Being a dog lover my entire life, I have always taken any opportunity to work with dogs. My first job was at Ren’s Pets Depot, where I was able to interact with pets and their owners every day. Over the years, I have raised three guide dogs through the Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides, as well as provided dog sitting for their fosters and career-changed dogs. I also worked at the Hamilton/Burlington SPCA as a canine assessor. In addition, I have volunteered as a photographer for various animal rescue organizations such as Save Our Scruff and Bark at the Moon K9 Rescue. Because of this experience, I have the ability and knowledge to care for a wide range of dogs, from puppies to anxious dogs to rescues. I can provide a calm, structured, and welcoming environment tailored to each pup’s individual needs. Lyndon, my 7-year-old black Lab mix and career-changed guide dog, is easygoing and social. He loves the company of other dogs and will be a steady, friendly companion during their stay. Olly, my 6-month-old dachshund, is a bit more reserved at first but warms up with time. Once comfortable, she enjoys playful moments like chase and fetch! Together, Lyndon and Olly help create a balanced home environment that can suit both confident and more sensitive dogs. This was the first positive boarding experience our 9yr old golden retriever has ever had (admittedly he usually stays in kennels). Normally, our retriever is stressed and anxious but Maddie clearly has a lot of experience and settled our dog almost immediately. Her home and yard provide the perfect environment whether your dog is active or just prefers to lounge on the couch. Her obedient lab and daschund were great companions. A nearby park and green space/creek provide a convenient off-the-road exercise venue. Maddie walked our dog right at sunrise before it got too hot and gauged his energy level throughout the 3 day stay to ensure he wasn't overworked. She provided frequent updates with photos and clearly he was a very happy dog. Medication was also property administered. I certainly plan to use Maddie's services again and highly recommend her!
We couldn’t have asked for a better experience for Topanga! From the moment we dropped her off, it was clear that she was in caring and capable hands. As the owner of a very high-energy Australian Shepherd, I always worry about whether she’ll get enough attention and exercise, but that was never a concern here. Throughout her stay, we received regular updates and photos, which gave us complete peace of mind and allowed us to enjoy our time away. It was obvious that Topanga was having a wonderful time playing with Lyndon and their adorable young dachshund. They treated her like part of the family and gave her plenty of love, attention, and playtime. The best compliment was hearing them say that Topanga was perfect! It speaks volumes about how comfortable and happy she felt in their home. We are incredibly grateful for the excellent care they provided and would not hesitate to book with them again. Highly recommend to anyone looking for trustworthy, attentive, and genuinely caring dog sitters!

Schedule
I work most days from home and have a very flexible schedule. I will be able to adjust my work day to best fit your dogs needs and keep them in a routine they are comfortable with.

I have two friendly dogs at home who help create a calm, social environment for visiting pets. My black Lab mix, Lyndon, is very easygoing and loves the company of other dogs, making him a steady companion during their stay. I also have Olly my 6-month-old miniature dachshund, who is a bit more reserved at first but settles in with time and enjoys gentle play once she is comfortable. With over 14 years of experience in dog care, including fostering, working with rescues, and assessing dogs professionally, you can feel confident that your pup will be cared for, understood, and loved as if they were my own. I always aim to create a safe, structured, and comfortable environment tailored to each dog’s individual needs.

A typical day
When your dog stays with me, I like to keep them in their regular routine as much as possible. Whether that means your dog needs 3 walks a day and extra play time, or if your dog is happier lounging around the house. I aim to keep your dog in their usual routine to keep them happy and stress-free! I can provide physically and mentally stimulating activities for the dogs that stay with me. This includes walks where they get to stop and sniff for as long as they like, hikes, playtime in the house, puzzles, kong enrichment and more.
