Information Madalyn H. would like to know about your pet

Let me know if your dog has any special needs or behaviors that I need to account for. My preference is for breeds who do well with other animals but I can make do for any pets needs.

A typical day

Our days consist of plenty of play time outdoors. I love having the fenced in yard so that the dogs can run free and get lots of energy out!

Pet care experience

I am a lifelong animal lover. I am comfortable with caring for any breed and any size dog. We have a senior beagle mix, named Tallahassee, a Weimaraner, Luna and an American Bully, Axl. All of our dogs love to meet new pupper friends. Luna and Axl love to play with other dogs, while Tallahassee is the more laid back of the three. I have a flexible schedule so that I can work with most to be of any need to the animals in my care. I am comfortable and confident in caring for your animals and will care for them as if they were my own. As a dog, cat, rabbit, and chicken owner myself, I know and I understand the importance of who you leave your pet’s care in the hands of! I’m currently not working full time so I will have plenty of time to fit in all of the extra care and attention for your animals! I have a fenced in yard that the dogs can run and play in freely. Of course, if needed I can put the animals out in separate timeframes.

Madalyn was great, she's quick with responding to messages, keeping us up to date and sent photos each day of the animals. I would definitely use her services again!!

Madalyn did a fantastic job checking in on our two cats! She was extremely communicative and sent us pictures every day! She even cleaned their litter box room, which was so nice.

Madalyn was terrific. Very communicative and put in extra effort with one of our more difficult pets. Thanks again!

I am torn about leaving this review. This was my first time using Rover. The meet and greet went well and my pets seemed to really have liked her. First visit my beagle was scared and got loose. Sitter was frusrated because they had to be somewhere. Said my beagle nipped at her and we needed to find a new sitter. My dog is scared of everything but not aggressive at all (very submissive) so I can't fathom why he reacted to her in that way if he did. I feel that she did not give him time to trust her?? I was not there so I am not shifting blame on either. I found another Rover sitter I knew personally who brought our Max to their farm where they were watching other dogs and he had the time of his life. He was scared they said but warmed up within 10 minutes before leaving my home. Madelyn was gracious enough to stay on and watch my cat and senior dog who needes to be watched in home. I then get a message the next day that my cat did not want to come in from our screened porch so left him because she did not want to get scratched. This was absolutely unacceptable for two reasons. The first was that is was in the 20s and the second was I do not have a box out there and the damage of a cat using the restroom on our porch could have been costly. She said he hissed at her. I have only been scratched by him once in all the years we have had him and that was because he was scared while caught on something. He may be vocal but he is gentle. Also there are methods you can use picking up a cat and avoid getting scratched and a professional pet sitter should know. My senior dog seemed fine but she sleeps and eats so easy peasy. I would say if you do not have a cat and you have dogs who are used to being left and are not vocal and are quiet they will do well enough. If you need peace of mind that the sitter will put your pet's welfare above everything else I would look somehwere else. It was a helpless feeling to be a day's trip away and having a sitter texting you that they can't handle your pets.
