Premium, Trainer-Led Boarding

I am the owner and professional trainer behind Creating Companions Dog Training. My work goes far beyond basic pet care: I help owners understand their dogs, improve communication, build reliable everyday skills, and address behaviors that can make life together difficult. My experience includes puppies, adolescent dogs, multi-dog households, leash pulling, overexcitement, fear, reactivity, difficulty settling, and more complex behavioral needs. This background allows me to notice subtle changes in body language, stress, comfort, and social interactions that can easily be missed in a typical boarding environment. I understand that a dog behaving well at home may act differently in a new environment. Rather than assuming every dog will immediately enjoy unfamiliar people, dogs, or routines, I give each guest time to decompress and adjust. Introductions, play, handling, enrichment, and household freedom are based on the individual dog—not a one-size-fits-all schedule. During standard boarding, I maintain appropriate household manners and reinforce the routines your dog already understands. Boarding is not automatically a training program, and I do not promise to resolve established behavioral concerns during a regular stay. More intensive training may be available separately when appropriate. My experience helps me provide something especially valuable: informed, honest care. I will pay attention not only to whether your dog ate and went outside, but also to how they rested, recovered from stress, interacted, communicated, and adjusted throughout their stay.

Madalyn exceeded all expectations taking care of our two rambunctious boxers and accommodating our crazy schedule. She is extremely dependable and very communicative which was very appreciated! She even taught our dogs some tricks! I would highly recommend her for taking care of your pups!

Madalyn was great with my crazy 9 months lab. She communicated with me immediately when there was a change in my dogs behavior. She gave great advice at pickup to help manage my lab pup. Will definitely use again.

Schedule

I own and operate a professional dog-training business, which gives me a flexible schedule and allows me to structure each day around the dogs in my care. Although I may leave home for private training appointments, boarding dogs receive scheduled potty breaks, exercise, enrichment, meals, and intentional periods of rest throughout the day. I keep my boarding availability limited so every dog can receive appropriate supervision and individual attention. Before booking, we will discuss how long your dog is comfortable being alone and whether their routine is compatible with my schedule.

Safety, trust & environment

Safety begins before your dog enters my home. I carefully review each dog’s health, behavior, handling needs, and compatibility with my household before accepting a reservation. Current veterinary records are required, and a meet-and-greet or trial stay may be recommended before longer bookings. As a professional dog trainer, I understand canine body language, stress signals, resource guarding, appropriate play, and the importance of preventing problems rather than waiting for them to escalate. Dogs are introduced thoughtfully, managed according to their individual needs, and provided with separation and rest when appropriate. I do not rely on dogs to “work it out” among themselves. My home provides a structured environment with clear routines, attentive supervision, and secure management. I follow feeding instructions, medication directions, household boundaries, and existing training routines as closely as possible. Owners receive honest communication about how their dog is eating, resting, interacting, and adjusting throughout the stay.

Pets

A typical day

A typical day balances activity with the ability to settle. Dogs begin with a potty break and movement before breakfast, followed by a quiet period for digestion and rest. The remainder of the day may include walks, outdoor time, individual play, enrichment, appropriate social time, or practicing everyday household manners. I tailor activities to each dog rather than placing every guest on the same schedule. A young, energetic dog may need more structured movement and engagement, while an older or more sensitive dog may benefit from shorter activities and additional downtime. Rest is intentionally built into the day. Constant stimulation can create overtired, restless dogs, so my goal is to provide enough physical and mental fulfillment while also helping each dog remain calm and comfortable in a home environment. Evenings are quieter and focused on final exercise, settling, and maintaining each dog’s normal bedtime routine whenever possible.

Upon messaging me I will ask you to fill out a short ten question form. I like to know your dog(s) personality, allergies, medications, and if they have any behavioral issues that I need to be aware of (aggression, reactivity, sensitivities). I also want to know your dog’s motivators and what they find fun! I do require all dogs be up to date on shots and the kennel cough vaccine for safety purposes so be ready to provide an image of their current shot records!
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
