Pet care is a natural part of my daily routine, especially since I have an 12-year-old Yorkie of my own. Every day includes walks, feeding, playtime, and plenty of cuddles. I’m used to adapting to a pet’s individual needs, whether it’s sticking to a specific feeding schedule, administering medication, or providing a little extra patience and attention. Caring for pets is something I genuinely enjoy, and it’s already built into how I plan my day and week.

I provide pet care exclusively in my clients’ homes, where pets are most comfortable and can stay in their familiar environment. I follow each pet’s routine closely, whether that includes feeding schedules, walks, playtime, administering medication, or simply providing companionship. I make sure to keep the home clean and secure, and I always respect any specific instructions left by the owner. My goal is to make sure each pet feels safe, loved, and well cared for while their owner is away.

It’s important for me to know as much as possible about a pet’s routine, personality, and any special needs ahead of time. This includes things like feeding instructions, medical conditions, medications, triggers or fears (like loud noises or other dogs), and how they behave on walks or around strangers. I also like to know their favorite toys, activities, and any house rules you’d like me to follow. The more I know up front, the better I can make your pet feel comfortable, safe, and happy while you’re away.

I love keeping pets happy, active, and engaged while their owners are away. Depending on the pet’s personality and energy level, I’ll go on walks, play fetch, have tug-of-war sessions, or just enjoy some relaxing cuddle time. For more playful pets, I like to use interactive toys or play games that stimulate both their body and mind. I always tailor activities to each pet’s needs to make sure they’re having fun, staying safe, and feeling loved.

Hi my name is Mackenzie, recently moved to the area from Oregon. Looking to provide your pet with love and care while you’re gone! I’ve spent years dog sitting for friends, family and others on rover. I have watched small dogs and big dogs, households with cats and without. I offer visits to your home, walks, as well as dog sitting in your home. I love to dog sit because it offers me flexibility in my schedule as well as enjoying the companionship of the pets I watch. I look forward to meeting with you and your pets! On a side note: I would like to mention I do currently have a job and my hours are Tuesday-Friday 10am-6pm. For overnight dog sitting requests I ask if it’s okay for me to bring my dog along as well while I stay in your home. She’s a 12 year old yorkie named Emma who is spayed, up to date on all her shots, and house trained! She can be a little shy and follows me around everywhere. She loves to cuddle and sleep for most of the day.

I appreciated the fact Mackenzie was able to do this at the last minute, as I was planning a "working vacation" and was unable to contact a friend to do this as well as having others on Rover.com not able or interested. Primarily to stay overnight with my two cats, who did enjoy her company, she did all I asked of her.
Mackenzie has watched my two dogs on several occasions and has taken excellent care of them. My dogs have always been very happy under Mackenzie's care.
Mackenzie was great with my doggie Emma. My dog is very shy and gets nervous around new people. Mackenzie had her playing and jumping around within a few min of meeting her. Looking forward to having her watch my doogie again soon!
