Pet care experience
Insured Cat Professional!
Hi I’m Mac! I use he/him pronouns, and have extensive experience with dogs and cats, and am a friend to other animals such as rats, guinea pigs, rabbits, and exotics. I have my own cats, Cashew and Chowder, who are extremely orange and have me well-prepared for whatever special quirks your pets have. I’m extremely passionate about the care and well-being of animals, and have dedicated much of my life to researching animal behaviour, training and wellness to inform my approach to pet ownership and taking care of your pets. I really treasure this work and the trust that you put in me as a sitter. I strive to have clear communication and as thorough updates as possible over the course of our booking, and hope to make you feel like your time away is worry-free. 🚨Please read through my whole profile for important information 🚨 🐾 I am experienced in pet first aid and medication administration including pills, liquids, and injections. I have extensive knowledge and experience with: feline hyperthyroidism treatment with methimazole/felimazole administration, anxiety treatment with fluoxetine, chronic kidney disease, and canine and feline diabetes treatment with Senvelgo, caninsulin and vetsulin using manual syringe and vetpen administration 🐾 🗓️I do not accept bookings without a prior meet and greet, including same day bookings without the time to familiarize myself with your pet and space prior to the booking. Please ensure you book with enough time to allow us all to feel comfortable with each other. 🗓️ 🖊️For your added peace of mind, on top of the Rover guarantee I also provide private insurance for all walks and sittings. This allows me double coverage that both overlaps with, and covers costs outside of the Rover guarantee. 🖊️

Safety, trust & environment
I have been cat sitting for friends and family for years, and I have two orange cats (who live up to that reputation) with various challenges myself, from anxiety to chronic illness. I understand each pet is different, and we can talk at the meet and greet about your schedule and ideal care for your pet. If you see this please mention the word CASHEW to get 7% off your first booking to indicate you’ve read through my profile.

Repeat clients and we will continue to book with Mackenzie! Our cat loves when he comes over and we know she’s in good hands when he’s looking after her.

Mac was amazing with our boys! So communicative and was a great problem solver when some unexpected behaviour issues popped up. Would highly recommmend working with him. We are really happy with his services.
Mackenzie is always great with our senior cranky cat. We get detailed descriptive updates and always know our cat is well taken care of. Thank you!
Attentive, caring and responsive! Always takes great care of our cats (including a very surly one)
Mackenzie once again crushes a cat sitting so that we can go on vacation without worrying about our little cats. Mackenzie always gives us peace of mind with his incredible updates and photos. And the cats have a ball!

I am happy to care for your pet at your convenience, but do limit the number of midday bookings I can accept on weekdays.
