I have been taking care of dogs for the past fifteen years. More recently, over the last four years, I have gravitated towards adopting dogs that either require more care or are older and unlikely to be given a life they deserve. I can handle high energy dogs, I have a schnauzer that requires a lot of attention. He needs frequent walks and quite a bit of exercise chasing his ball. I can also handle dogs that require special care. One of the dogs I adopted was found by my girlfriend and I in terrible conditions after being hit by a car. His back was broken and he was left on the side of the road. We looked after him, changing diapers, and cleaning his body for months until he was able to walk again using three legs. He even became a very great playmate for my schnauzer. He lived a very happy life before ultimately passing. I would be looking to give plenty of time to your dog(s) making sure they are active and cared for as if they were my own.
