Before I watch a pet, there are a few important things I need to know to make sure they stay safe and comfortable. I make sure to ask if they have any allergies or special food needs, and what their regular feeding schedule is. I also need to know if they must stay on a leash during walks or if they are allowed to be off-leash. It’s important for me to understand their daily routine, behavior, and energy level, as well as any fears or habits they have. I also ask about medications, emergency contacts, and what to do if something unexpected happens, so I can take the best care of them.
A typical day
When I watch pets, I love filling the time with fun and caring activities. I play games like fetch or tug-of-war to keep them active and excited, and I take them on nice walks so we can explore and get fresh air together. I also spend time brushing them and giving gentle belly rubs so they feel comfortable and loved. Teaching them simple tricks is something I enjoy because it’s fun and rewarding. When it’s time to relax, I like sitting with them while watching a movie or reading, creating a calm and cozy environment while I care for them.

Our three dogs go crazy when Mackenzie comes to walk them or to stay with them. She is very reliable and we feel good knowing that our dogs are happy and well cared for when we are away.
Mackenzie is the best dog sitter there is! My dog Hercules, who is a pit/ boxer mix, absolutely loves when she takes care of him and I never have to worry. She sends me pictures of him, always ask questions if she has any, and is truly so passionate about caring for all pets. You can’t go wrong with Mackenzie!
