When caring for pets in a client’s home, my top priority is safety, routine, and comfort. I carefully follow all instructions regarding feeding, medications, walks, and behavior preferences to keep pets on their normal schedule. I take time to build trust with each pet and allow them to warm up at their own pace. I’m mindful of home safety, always double-check doors, leashes, and routines to prevent any issues. I also respect clients’ homes and keep everything clean and cared for while I’m there. I provide updates and photos so owners feel confident and connected while they’re away.

Before booking, I like to know about your pet’s temperament, energy level, and any special needs or routines. Please let me know if your pet has any medical conditions, medications, anxiety, or triggers (such as other animals, loud noises, etc.). I also like to know their usual feeding schedule, bathroom routine, and anything that helps them feel comfortable. The more I know, the better I can make sure your pet is safe, happy, and well cared for.
A typical day
A typical day with me includes lots of attention, playtime, and making sure your pet feels comfortable and happy. For dogs, I love going on walks, playing fetch or tug, and giving them plenty of exercise based on their energy level. I also make time for cuddles and relaxation so they feel safe and cared for. For cats or lower-energy pets, I focus on gentle play, enrichment, and giving them space while still providing attention and affection. I always try to match each pet’s routine so they feel as at-home as possible.

Pet care experience
I’ve loved animals for as long as I can remember and grew up caring for four dogs, which gave me a strong foundation in daily care, responsibility, and understanding different personalities. Over the years, I’ve pet sat for friends and family, caring for a wide range of animals—from bottle-feeding a rescued kitten to looking after large breeds like Great Pyrenees and Great Danes. I’m comfortable with pets of all sizes, ages, and temperaments. I also volunteer with animal shelters when I can and enjoy helping care for stray animals in need. I’m currently beginning my education in the animal field and working at a doggy daycare and boarding facility, where I’m gaining even more hands-on experience with group play, supervision, and daily care routines. I truly love all animals and treat every pet as if they were my own.

She’s AMAZING and took such good care of our cat Bubba! I can’t say enough good things about Mackenzie from her kindness helping us out on the spur of the moment, literally the day before we left to feeding, playing with and caring so much about our cat Bubba! I had a fantastic experience booking Mackenzie. She was reliable, friendly, and clearly experienced with dogs. My two pups warmed up to her right away, which doesn’t always happen, so that really stood out. She followed all care instructions and made sure they got plenty of attention and exercise. The updates she sent were thoughtful and reassuring. I came home to two very happy, well-cared-for dogs and would absolutely trust her with them again. Highly recommend!
I can’t recommend Mackenzie highly enough. She took exceptional care of my two dogs while I was away, and it was clear from the start how attentive, responsible, and genuinely loving she is with animals. She kept me updated regularly with photos and messages, which gave me total peace of mind. My dogs came home happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for. It’s not easy to find someone you fully trust with your pets, but Mackenzie absolutely exceeded expectations. I would confidently recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and compassionate pet caregiver.
