Availability
I will be focusing on pet care as my highest priority! I would love to find families with recurring needs (drop ins during the work week, care during business trips or pet sitting for vacations). But even if your need is just for a one-off circumstance, I would love to help with it all!

Your pet will always feel loved and cared for in my care. Whether I’m stopping by for a quick walk, or if I’m staying for a week while you’re away - they will feel cared for and loved. I’ll be sure to get as much info from you as possible to understand their personality, their unique needs, and how to make them the most comfortable.
Information Mackenzie G. would like to know about your pet
I know that different pets have different needs. If there’s something your pet requires outside of standard care, just let me know. I am happy to accommodate what I can! ** please let me know ahead of time if your pet is not good with children. I may have my infant daughter with me, so I will need to know if your fur baby won’t like being around her!
A typical day
I will do whatever it takes to stimulate your pup and make sure they’re getting the appropriate energy out. Whether that’s throwing the ball a hundred times (watching for signs that they’re getting tired, even if they don’t realize it), preparing lick-mats, rolling treats into a towel, playing hide and seek, or just giving them affection. I’ll tailor the activities to what you know they love.

Pet care experience
Ruthie and I would love to care for your pets! I grew up in a “dogs are a part of the family” household. I was born into a family with Honey (Cocker Spaniel). When she passed at 17 yo, we adopted a retired seeing-eye-dog with cancer, Mona (Lab). When she passed, we adopted Braylee (Pit Mix) from the shelter. I adopted my first dog on my own 7 years ago - River is a huge Aussie / Berner mix who loves to be close to me ALL the time. He sucks on his stuffies, LOVES fetch, and couldn’t care less about playing with other dogs. Our Covid puppy is Brisket - the Golden we adopted 2 weeks before our wedding! He’s incredibly needy and loving and desperate for attention - classic Golden. I have experience with elderly dogs, chronically ill dogs, as well as misunderstood breeds. I believe understanding each animal’s unique needs is the key to providing a seamless and stress-free interaction for your pet. Pet care is not a one-size-fits-all industry, and it is important to me that I understand what will create the best experience for YOUR baby. I do have an 8 month old baby (as of October 2024) that comes with me everywhere, so as long as she can join in on my pet care journey for your babies, count me in!

Reviews

I have had Mackenzie housesit for me multiple times now, and I have to say that her and her husband Gil always do an absolutely fantastic job. I never worry about what's going on at the house, and I know that my dogs are very well taken care of. I get plenty of updates, and they have been so accommodating in situations such as my flight getting delayed. She is quick to respond, polite, and just awesome all around. I highly recommend her, and she will always be my first choice for care for my dogs while I am out of town. Thank you so much again Mackenzie!

Our second booking with Mackenzie. Couldn't ask for better service and care for our dogs. Would recommend to anyone and everyone.

Can't recommend enough. Mackenzie was absolutely fantastic with our dogs and left our home very clean and tidy.

Mackenzie did a great job with all my animals. She was thorough in detailing everything going on with them and sent regular updates. I knew my dogs were well loved and taken care of while I was out of town. I would be happy to have her house sit again in the future!
