Availability
On my off days, I have open availability to check on pets as much as needed. I work up to four 12-14 hour shifts a week, and sometimes these are overnight shifts. With enough advanced noticed, I try to plan my work schedule around pet sitting but this isn’t always feasible. If your pet has specific requirements around time (example: insulin is given at 9a and 9p), please let me know in advance so I can make sure this will be possible with my schedule.

My pets aren’t the most welcoming to new visitors so unfortunately I’m unable to accept pets in my home. I am willing to stay at your home if needed. I try my best to stick to your pet’s routine and will always treat your home with respect while I’m there. For safety reasons, I require that I’m the only person who accesses your home while I’m house sitting (for example, I ask that any roommates not be present).
Information Mackenzie B. would like to know about your pet
There’s no such thing as having too much information. I want to hear all about your pet! Do they have any anxiety triggers? Do they have any food allergies? Do they have any major medical history I should know about? When I’m pet sitting someone else’s pet, I will always want an emergency plan just in case something goes wrong. I will ask about your pets medical history, anything that may come up if (God forbid) we end up at an emergency vet while you’re away. If you’ll be out of the country, in a significantly different timezone, or otherwise unable to be contacted, I’ll also ask for 1 or 2 emergency contacts who can make medical decisions for your pet if I’m unable to reach you. Being prepared and informed is the best way I can care for your pet!
A typical day
I love taking long walks with pets to explore the neighborhood or sit outside and play fetch to our hearts content. I’m also a huge book lover and will sit with your fur baby and read next to them for some good snuggle time. It’s a win-win situation, really.

Pet care experience
I’m a veterinary technician with 6 years of experience, and I’ve spent half of that time working in emergency medicine. I have an advanced skill set and am CPR and Fear Free certified. I’m also experienced in identifying early signs of illness in both dogs and cats. While I hope these skills are never needed in Rover pets, I hope it’s a comfort to pet parents to know I can handle any unexpected situation. I also love caring for pets with lengthy medical histories. I can administer any type of medications, including injectable, and am very comfortable working with chronic illnesses, like diabetes, asthma, FLUTD, and immune-mediated disorders to name a few.
Cat care experience

Mackenzie also cares for cats. Learn about their cat-specific care experience.
Reviews
Mackenzie is a very intelligent self-starter and problem solver. We had one meet and greet, I left detailed notes, Mackenzie sent pictures and updates. I felt confident in her skill level due to her being a vet tech with an emergency vet clinic. I had a horrible experience in August with a highly recommended independent sitter so choosing a pet sitter for December after that experience was scary. Mackenzie put that other experience in my rearview mirror. I just hope that Mackenzie's schedule is open the next time I need a pet sitter.

Mackenzie is wonderful with our Bernese mountain dog!

Makenzie is such a great sitter! She watched our 2 big dogs and did such a great job. She was so communicative and sent lots of cute pics throughout the weekend. She was very flexible and so easy to work with! I’d recommend her to anyone looking for a dog sitter!
Mackenzie has watched both of my golden retrievers a handful of times. Every time she watches them she sends written and picture updates. Her knowledge in the vet med world also puts my mind at ease while I am on vacation. Couldn't recommend her more!
