Pet care experience

Animals give me joy!

Growing up, I was torn between becoming a veterinarian or a doctor. I’m now a medical student who is passionate about making sure animals are comfortable and at ease when their owners are away.

Safety, trust & environment

I believe all dogs are like snowflakes- each one has a very unique personality! If I’m housesitting or boarding, I take the time to ask owners a few questions about their furry friend so I can provide the best experience. Scroll below to see how I do home visits, walks, boarding, and cat care! For dog walks: I like making sure dogs have the chance to smell everything to their hearts desire- so I’ll find interesting and fun walking areas to take them! (Sometimes I’ll bring my partner along on the adventure!) If you have a higher energy dog, I have no problem taking them for light jogs or a few miles worth of walks. For longer walks, I’ll be bringing water and a portable water bowl with us. Expect to be sent some insta-worthy dog pictures! For home visits: At the first dog home visit, I devote more time bonding with them and learning about who they are (treats work wonders!). If a dog is on the shy side, I’ll give them space and keep them company while reading a book. For outgoing dogs, I’ll offer cuddles and play with whatever toys they have on hand. I carry my own potty bags, and will always take a dog on a potty break and small walk during a home visit. For dogs with medical needs, I will give medications and provide closer updates. You can expect a photo or two + report card for each home visit! For cat visits: I’m a cat owner myself, and I know how shy some feline friends can be. I am very respectful of their space and personalities. During each home visit, I’ll change their waters, clean their litter boxes la thoroughly, and make sure I can lay eyes on your cat. I’ll spend time playing with high energy cats (read: orange!) . For shy cats, I’ll read for a little to give them company. I’m very comfortable giving medication, brushing teeth, and clipping claws! Expect a few photos and videos.

Maaria did a drop in on my dog last minute. I came home to a happy dog and got to enjoy my long day away from home without worrying about him. Thank you!!

Schedule

I’m home full time before my job begins in the fall, so my pet care schedule is quite flexible. I am also available to board because of this!

Cats
0 to 15 lbs
16 to 40 lbs
Maaria can host up to 3 drop-ins per day
Please let me know if your cat or dog has any important health history (including behavioral issues, phobias, medical conditions) so I can adjust their daily routine. I like to know the age, temperament, and training extent of the dog.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
