Hello! I'm an energetic and enthusiastic individual with a HUGE love of dogs of all sizes. I love them so much that I go out of my way to say hello and pet dogs on the street (with permission, of course!). I love playing fetch, tug, and running around with dogs. I even love brushing them, so if you are in need of a good grooming for your friend, I'll raise my paw for the task! I used to have a rescue pitty, so rescues have a soft spot in my heart. I once went on a trip and slept in a bed with three super sweet rescue dogs, coming home smelling of dog...and I couldn't have been happier! I've pet-sit cats* ever since I was a child, and have also watched rabbits and a turtle. I have personally owned and cared for fish, reptiles, and a dog. I currently have a few fish and lots of plants. I have worked with a dog with anxiety and, though not a certified professional, helped train, gain trust, and saw improvement. When a client of mine was about to get a puppy, I read puppy books so that I could do my best when I cared for her and her sister. M. is wonderful! Our dog has special needs and is quite old but M was amazing with her. She pays great attention to detail and communicated with us often to let us know that she and our Chanel were doing great together. Just as important she was very loving to Chanel. I’m thrilled we find M and have already rebooked her to watch Chanel!
M was incredible! We received thorough updates on our dogs throughout the days she watched them and I felt like they were being treated just like they were her own. She was great with asking questions on anything they needed, made sure to accommodate specifics to each individual dog, and gave us the best sense of comfort while being across country. 100% would book again.
Maris was fantastic! From the first time we met her, she was patient and loving towards our dog, Goose, who is slow to warm up to people. She is very comfortable around dogs and knowledgable on how to handle them; particularly with our rescue who has a lot of separation anxiety. During her weekend stay with Goose, she continued being very patient with him, gave him the time he needs to warm-up to her, and was extremely communicative with us the whole time. We would absolutely use Maris again in the future and would definitely recommend her!
Our dog Goldie is an older dog who is on several medications. Maris did an incredible job during the meet and greet to understand everything. Maris asked so many great questions to make sure she was prepared for everything and then also took some time to meet Goldie. The day she came by to watch Goldie went incredibly smoothly. Constant photo updates as well as text updates to make sure we knew that Goldie’s routine was right on schedule. I could tell by the photos that Goldie really enjoyed Maris’s company and was comfortable right away. Maris made sure our day away was stress free. We could tell that Goldie already misses hanging out with Maris and we will definitely be using her again for any dog sitting going forward!

Schedule
I'm currently working from home; on very rare occasion, I may have to go into the office. If house-sitting, I could stay at your house if you like, so long as I'd have wifi and the ability to place to comfortably work from my computer. Whatever works for you and your pet and our combined schedules! Please note: I request scheduling a one-time Drop-In as a meet-and-greet to account for my time when we first meet. If you are out of my service area, I may discuss a fee to cover mileage for bookings.

Safety, trust & environment
At your home, it's your rules! I like to leave a space as I've entered it: clean and as if I wasn't even there. I like playtime with pets and like to send photo updates as well as text updates (unless you need peace and quiet, which I will respect, too). I do NOT sit at homes in which cameras are used upon me inside the home out of personal privacy. *Please note: I can and have cared for many cats, but am allergic. If I stay overnight at your house, I will need a cat-free zone to sleep. I do not take house-sitting requests without this zone or with more than 2 cats. I am vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19 and take CDC-recommended precautions with illnesses. If I care for your pet, please know that I may use their picture, including them being in or around your home, on my profile. If you are not comfortable with this, please discuss this with me, as I value everyone's privacy. At my home, pets will need the ability to go up and down stairs, though I can pick them up to do so if this is requested. The floors are mainly wood (tile in the kitchen); most floors have carpets on them. Dogs may need their own bed or designated place to sleep, as they are not allowed on the bed. The yard is not fenced, so leashing is a must for safety, and walking will be on town streets with potential occasional passing cars. I do not generally take dogs out in the car, but, should we need to, my car has a dog back seat cover and seatbelt (I ask that you please supply a harness in case we should need it). For boarding and day care, I request that we do our meet-and-greet at your home first so that I can see what your pet is used to and assess if I will be able to accommodate their needs. If we agree that this seems plausible, I will happily invite you to my home for your assessment so that you can feel safe knowing where your fur family will stay. I do not do boarding or day care for cats. If you'd like my care for your pet, please mention the phrase "safety is my #1 concern" in your request to me. I have been harassed by predators on Rover and take everyone's safety very seriously.
A typical day
When we meet, I'll ask you about you and your pet's usual routine so that I can help keep them comfortable to the best of my abilities. I love to play fetch with dogs. We also can go on a nice walk. If your dog likes to snuggle, there will definitely be snuggling. If your cat is playful, I would love to play with it! I will also talk to your pet, because they need communication, too!
