Safety, trust & environment

Communication is key and not just about your pup or cat, but also your home! Although, I'm unable to care for pets in my home as I am currently caring for a bird, I always strive to respect people's homes and their spaces. Ensuring cleanliness and safety of the home environment are also hugely important to me as a sitter.

Information Lyss R. would like to know about your pet

It's important to know how your pup gets along with other animals, and how they get along with pet sitters/strangers and if there are specific things to note such as medications or other special needs. It can be nice to meet your pup ahead of your trip, so there can be a smooth transition after your departure.

A typical day

Depending on the dog's age, activity level, and owner's comfort level, I love to take dogs out for regular walks. I love being outdoors, so I try to take dogs out as much as possible. Some favorite walking spots include Red Rocks, the Burlington Bike Path, Mt Philo, and Farrell Park.

Pet care experience

My family and I have taken care of neighbors and friend's pets since I was a teenager. I am trustworthy and responsible and work as a social worker as my day job - it's very stressful for a dog or cat to be away from it's owner, and I care a great deal about making sure animals are comfortable and well taken care of. Lyss was wonderful, and gave our pup a nice midday walk while we were away. Hoping to book more walks in the future!! Thank you!

Lyss was amazing - extremely thoughtful about pet care and what situations are good or bad for my dog; she thought of everything. You should absolutely hire her!

Lyss did great with my quirky poodle and my shy rabbit. She was also an excellent house guest. Thanks, Lyss!
