Pet care experience
I treat your pets like my pets
Hi there! My name is Lynn, but I go by (and much prefer) Nikki. I’ve been a pet sitter for over 10yrs on my own, off & on, before deciding to do it full time, and before joining Rover. This is not *just* a job for me, it’s a passion of mine & my livelihood. I've grown up around dogs almost my entire life (I’m 38 years young – I know, I know, I don’t look my age =D) and have helped train most in some fashion. They've been mostly medium sized breeds, such as Labs & Goldens, but I've also had a pitbull and my current rescue mix, who is about 45-50 lbs. I strongly believe all breeds are inherently good, and it’s all about nurture versus nature, so I’m open to sitting for all different breeds. Some of my favorite clients have been pitbulls aka those loveable house hippos <3 While most of my experience has been with medium sized breeds, I have sat dogs as small as a Chihuahua mix to as large as a young pair of Anatolian Shepherds. I've also dropped in on cats, and even fish, so I’m happy to do that for you as well. I also have experience giving oral medication (pill and liquid), as well as transdermal. When I’m not busy pet sitting I love to color, read, cross stitch, and to play mobile games. I’m a big fan of gnomes and Nightmare Before Christmas, and have growing collections of each. I’m a summer girl, and love love love to be outside when the sun’s out & it’s nice & warm. It's definitely NOT summer right. I hope everyone is staying warm in these frigid temps!
Qualifications
Ratings and reviews
As usual, Lynn (Nikki) did a fantastic job taking care of our pets. She very meticulously followed our instructions and gave us regular updates with pictures. When our flights were canceled, she agreed at the last minute to stay an extra night. We would recommend her highly to anyone looking for a conscientious and responsible sitter.

Nikki is absolutely wonderful!! She puts up with our two bichons, who are ornery and elderly. She is very patient and understanding with them both and we couldn’t be happier with her. We feel so fortunate to have found her and know that our dogs are safe and happy when she watches them.

Nikki (Lynn) stayed with our 2 dogs and 2 cats for a long weekend. As usual, she did a great job! Nikki stayed in close touch with us and sent us updates on the inclement weather. She is getting used to our pets and manages our difficult pitbull quite well. When we thought we might be stranded, she agreed that we could book an extra night if needed. The house was in great shape when we got home and the pets were happy and seemed well cared for.

Nikki (Lynn) is an absolute godsend. She is responsible, patient, responsive and cares for our two pups as much as we do. I would highly recommend her to anyone!!

Lynn (Nikki) did a great job taking care of our two dogs and two cats for 12 nights. While we were gone, she sent us regular updates with pictures. She gave us paperwork to complete with our special instructions and before we left, and she made a special visit to be sure she got all the details. Taking care of our family is no easy task; our 13-year-old boxer had diarrhea for two days during which Nikki cleaned up her messes and administered medication per our instructions. She also had to contend with our stubborn pitbull who refused to get up every morning and had to be led outside with a leash and harness. Not to mention that one of our cats peed on the bed and Nikki had to wash all the bed linens half-way through her stay. Nikki contended with all this and more with a good attitude and positive updates. We felt at all times that our pets were well taken care of. She also completed some extra tasks for us including bringing in the mail and watering the plants. The house was neat and tidy when we arrived home. We would recommend Nikki to anyone who wants a responsible, conscientious sitter and we plan to use her again in the near future.

Nikki did a great job taking care of our four animals. We felt that they were well taken care of. She also brought in the mail and garbage cans without us asking and left the house very clean. She is not only very professional, but very nice.

Calendar and availability
Schedule
I pet & house sit as my full-time job! With relatively few exceptions, I am available most days to walk your pet or drop in, or to stay overnight. I do live with my parents as they are getting up there in age, so while I do have my own dog Finnie, he is being taken care of by them while I’m gone.
Where your pet will stay
Safety, trust & environment
I am a non-smoker & come from a smoke free home. I follow any special instructions regarding things like: do they need to be crated when I leave the house? Any special routines or food they need to have? (I never give your pet(s) any food that I have not been given permission to give them). Drop ins - I stop by and make sure they have water & feed them if needed, that they are let out to potty & get some playtime and/or a walk. House Sitting - While I often come & go during the day - I have other long standing walks & drop-ins that are 3-5 days a week - I will always be there to spend the night, meaning your babies will never be left alone overnight. I always make sure to check with you on the maximum length of time they can be left alone & work within that time frame. Unfortunately I cannot be there 24hrs a day, due to aforementioned commitments.

A typical day
I am fine with very mellow dogs (snuggling up watching Netflix? Yes please!), but also most energetic dogs. I have both a metro park & a small city park nearby that I'd love to take your dog walking in. There's lots of trees to sniff, leaves to chase, and just so many things to see, smell & try to eat. Does your dog like just hanging outside, taking sun baths? Me too! Is your dog not okay with physical touch? We can hang out so close, yet so far, and still have a good time. I base my activities on what your dog prefers, and to their energy level. My own dog & I like to sit out on the back patio when the weather allows, with me just reading a book and him either snoozing or wandering the yard. What does YOUR dog like?
