We have a large private and secure garden where dogs can run and play. Enrichment activities are part of the day and walkies are twice daily. We have a barrier that is placed at the bottom of the stairs and a barrier to contain any dogs whilst we answer the front door.

Information Lynn D. would like to know about your pet
We will now only accept small/medium well adjusted and socialised dogs. We cannot accommodate non neutered male dogs. I need to know their dietary requirements and any medication they are taking. I am used to caring for senior dogs, as both of my last dogs had dietary requirements and medication to take. My last dog lived until she was 16.5 years old, with proper care. Please bring along their bed, toys and bowls as well as food and treats. Exclusivity can be provided, but not gauranteed.
A typical day
Polly loves to interact with other dogs. She is not territorial or possessive about her toys etc. In fact, quite the opposite. She will fetch one of her toys and drop it at her new friends feet to entice them to come and play ! We love to go out into the nearby countryside for long walks or to the local park for games of catch the ball or chase. They also have a large secure garden to play around in.

My prices may be a little higher than some on Rover, but I am the ONLY licensed dog boarder on this site in Peterborough. This means that I am regulated by the Council who have inspected my property and approved me as a professional boarder/daycare provider, governed by DEFRA regulations. Licence Number 119691 Issued by Peterborough City Council. Please use this link to receive £15 off your first booking with me…. https://www.rover.com/sit/lynnd34729 Please ensure any dog boarder or doggy daycare provider that you use, is licensed by the local Council. If they don’t display a license number, they haven’t got one !!! Any insurance that they may hold (including any that Rover give) will be invalidated….as any insurance will be, that you have. Don’t take the chance of something happening to your furbaby ! Ask to see the license…..to make sure. At Dixons dog sitters, we are BIG softies for all animals....but especially for dogs. I have owned and looked after dogs of my own now, for over 40 years and the profile photo shows our pup...7 year old Polly. I have now professionally looked after other peoples dogs for 4 years. I have full public liability insurance. I also hold a pet first aid certificate and a diploma in pet care. Our dog, Polly is such a fun little girl, who loves to play. Polly can sometimes be bossy with younger dogs, but once settled down they quickly form very close friendship bonds. She shares her toys, her home, her owners…and even her food with her new doggy friends. I am semi retired and work part time from home, so I am available 24/7 to pamper and care for your fur baby. Paul (my Husband) works nights, so is up and around from lunchtime every day, so there is ALWAYS someone at home. Your dog will never be left alone, and when it is too hot or too wet to go outside, there are always lots of toys to play with. They will DEFINITELY get spoiled when they holiday with Aunty Lynn and Uncle Paul ! We will care for small to medium sized dogs that fit the following criteria. However, we do occasionally take on bigger dogs (lurchers, labradors etc) Your dog needs to be socialised with other dogs. Not be aggressive in any way. Walk nicely on the lead. Be able to sleep alone or with other dogs. Please take a look at some of the reviews left by owners. Dixons dog sitters holds £2million public liability insurance and we will take care of your fur baby, as well as we take care of our own. I always insist on a meet and greet before your dog comes to stay. This will reassure you, that our house is a safe, secure, clean and loving environment. You get to meet our dog and any other dogs that are staying at the time. This makes the whole process so much easier to handle for everyone concerned. I know how stressful it can be, to leave your pets with anyone, other than family. We will never take dogs out in the heat of the day, or when it is raining heavily and won't let them off lead, unless told that they can be trusted to not run away. We have a large secure garden with shaded areas to play in, and enjoy indoor playtime and enrichment activities, when we are unable to go out for a walk, due to adverse weather conditions. We allow all dogs the full run of the house.....but have a barrier at the bottom of the stairs, and at the entrance to the kitchen, where they can be contained, if we open the front door. We are getting electric gates fitted soon. Every aspect is covered to keep them safe, secure and happy, whilst they are in my care. We always send lots of updates and photos to reassure owners. I am licensed to board 5 dogs at a time, so your dog needs to be well socialised and toilet trained. All dogs are walked once/twice a day....weather and ability dependant. All dogs are let out into our large secured garden to play, or go to the toilet every hour or so. In the Summer months, the back door is left open, so they can come and go as they please. Their last toilet break is usually around midnight. Your fur baby will become part of our family whilst you are away. There are no favourites in this household, and no forbidden areas. Everyone is treated the same. If Polly goes for a walk, so does your dog. If Polly gets a treat, so does your dog. You can enjoy your time away, knowing that your fur baby will not just be taken care of….they will be loved. Please read my testimonials.
Reviews

Lynn looked after 4 of our dogs this morning, a couple of whom are nervous and reactive. She is clearly very experienced and quickly won all the dogs over. Communication was first class, both before the appointment and when she arrived at our house. She sent us an update and pictures as i think she clocked that we were as anxious as the dogs! Would not hesitate to recommend. Thanks so much, Lynn.

Penelope had a fantastic stay at Lynn’s after I had to drop into London for work. The house and garden were fantastic spaces with plenty of room for play and quiet time. Lynn was great at communicating and it was evident how she absolutely loves animals from how comfortable Penelope made herself!

I cannot recommend Lynn and Paul highly enough. My dog, Pongo, stayed with them for 24 hours having never met them before, and from the outset I felt completely relaxed leaving him. They treated him as if he were their own dog and he was clearly very happy being with them. It was lovely receiving photos during the day, very reassuring. I would not hesitate to use their services again.
Lynn is an excellent, very experienced dog minder. She really understands the canine mind, and looked after my dog Foxy very well. She was very reassuring at the meet-and-greet, and made sure she settled in comfortably when I dropped her off. Regular updates reassured me that all was going well for the duration.
