Pet care experience

A tail wag = sincerest flattery

I have been "dog obsessed" as they say, for as long as I can remember. Everyone knows if there's a dog in the room, no human will get my full attention. I grew up with a dog and began petsitting around the age when my peers were babysitting. I have continued to care for the pets of friends and families over the years as needed. I will enjoy walking, playing with, and cuddling your dog and be sad to say goodbye. I am a general animal lover and can also get obsessed with cats and really any cute creature, which is all of them. My schedule is largely flexible and I am open to visiting anywhere in the Triangle (or just outside it). I look forward to hearing from you and meeting your pet!

Lydie was exceptional in watching our dog, and quite accommodating being it was a late-notice booking. She was communicative, polite, responsible, and detail-oriented with our needs. Would definitely recommend Lydie, and book again in the future! Thanks again!!

Lydie was very friendly and kind. We met up prior to having her dog sit for the weekend and she was very professional. I’d highly recommend her to anyone

Lydie let our dogs out a few times when we worked long hours. She did fabulous! I felt that the dogs were well taken care of and will definitely contact her in the future if we need someone again!

House Sitting • Feb 15, 2019

Lydie was AMAZING. When our prior plans fell through approximately 24 hours before we were due to get on an airplane, we found ourselves frantically searching for someone to care for our two dogs in our absence. Lydie immediately replied to our message and came right out to meet us and the pups. She immediately bonded with them and they spent the next hour climbing all over her and wagging their tails like it was the best thing that had ever happened to them. During the course of the week, Lydie cared for both dogs as if they were her own; we received text and photo updates that clearly showed that she was not only taking excellent care of our pets, but also entertaining and engaging them. In fact, they probably got more interactive time with her than they normally get with us! On top of all this, Lydie was an excellent caretaker for our home, and we arrived back with everything in perfect order, just as we'd left it. Most importantly, Lydie gave us peace of mind -- while we were away, we simply knew our dogs were in good hands and we could enjoy our vacation without having to worry about whether everything was okay at home. That peace of mind was priceless. We would enthusiastically, wholeheartedly hire Lydie again and recommend her without reservation to anyone else in need!

Safety, trust & environment

I have had two fur babies of my own and fostered four others into finding their furever homes, in addition to dog sitting. I am used to reading dog cues and will take your pup's cues on how active we should be together. We can take short strolls together around the neighborhood or venture out for longer hikes. I'd love to cuddle on the couch, but if your dog prefers space and quiet I will follow their lead. Boarding: My household is currently pet-free so we will welcome your dog with open arms - we have three dog-adoring adults living under one roof! Your house trained fur baby is welcome anywhere in our home and can sleep with us too, though we will crate if preferred.

A typical day

We may go on walks in the neighborhood, or make field trips if requested! The Eno River State Park and Duke Forest are two favorite spots of mine. I love to play fetch, tug-of-war, or whatever games your puppo prefers! And if your dog likes to cuddle, I'm all about it.

I would love to know what your dog's normal routine is like. What time do they wake up and go to bed? Where are they used to sleeping at night? When do they usually go outside, and how long are walks? Are they good around other animals, in an enclosed space and on a leash? Do they have any particular anxieties or allergies? How often do they get treats? Is people food acceptable? Any supplements or medications? Are they comfortable being picked up? How about having their paws touched? What house rules would you like to be enforced with your dog? Anything else I should know about what makes your pet special?
