Availability
I am currently on summer break from my teaching position and working remotely, which gives me a very flexible schedule throughout the week. Because my work is portable, I can be available for walks, drop-in visits, feeding, playtime, and companionship during hours when many sitters may be unavailable. My schedule allows me to give pets plenty of attention and care rather than just quick check-ins. As a teacher, I am responsible, patient, detail-oriented, and comfortable following routines, all of which translate well to providing dependable care for your pets.

About Lydia S.
Safety, trust & environment
Whether I am caring for pets in my home or in a client's home, my priority is making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while maintaining their normal routine as much as possible. I live in a spacious apartment in a safe, pet-friendly neighborhood near a lake, which provides a great environment for walks, exercise, and enrichment. Potty breaks are easy and frequent since I live on the second floor with quick access outside. I make sure pets have plenty of attention, playtime, fresh water, feeding according to their schedule, and lots of affection. I understand that every pet has different needs and personalities, so I am happy to follow any instructions regarding routines, medications, exercise, training, or special care. When caring for pets in a client's home, I treat both the pets and the home with the same respect and care that I would my own.

Missing My Dog, Loving Yours
Pet care experience
I've been around animals my entire life and have experience with both dogs and cats. I volunteered at the SPCALA animal shelter for several years, helping care for animals of all ages and personalities. I grew up with two cats and have also fostered pets, giving me experience helping animals adjust to new environments. I had a beloved dog who lived into her 20s, and my family recently foster-failed our newest dog. After recently moving to the area, I'm away from my dog and definitely missing having animals around every day. Caring for pets brings me so much joy, and I would love the opportunity to give your pets the same love, attention, and care that I've always given my own.
Reviews
I've known Lydia her whole life. I know that she has grown up in a home that fostered dozens of animals, as well as caring for the family dog. She is conscientious, reliable, responsible, and compassionate. Her sense of kindness with regard to animals is obvious and undeniable. I believe she would make a fine candidate.
Lydia would take my handsome boy Oscar for walks when I was away. He looked forward to this everyday! He was an older dachshund dog that didn’t like very many people but enjoyed Lydia. I would recommend Lydia to all of my friends and family. She is very responsible and will take care of your animal like it is her own.
I highly recommend Lydia as a pet caregiver. She is responsible, trustworthy, and genuinely loves animals. I've seen firsthand how attentive and caring she is, always making sure pets feel comfortable, safe, and loved. Lydia is reliable, communicative, and treats every pet as if it were her own. Any pet owner would be lucky to have Lydia caring for their furry family members.
Lydia is an excellent caregiver! She has always been one of my dog’s favorite people and she has done an excellent job caring for her while I am away. Highly recommend!
