Safety, trust & environment

Caring for a dog with anxiety has taught me the importance of patience, consistency, and understanding in creating a safe and comforting environment. At home, I ensure my anxious dog feels secure by maintaining a predictable routine, providing a quiet space to retreat when overwhelmed, and using calming techniques such as soothing music, gentle reassurance, and interactive toys. These experiences have helped me develop a deep empathy for dogs with unique needs, which I apply when caring for other people’s pets. I am attentive to each dog’s behavior, ensuring they feel relaxed and comfortable, whether through structured activities, gentle walks, or simply offering a calming presence. My goal is always to prioritize their emotional and physical well-being.

Information Lydia S. would like to know about your pet

As a pet sitter, it’s essential to communicate with pet owners about their pet’s unique needs, especially when it comes to their care and well-being. I ensure that I understand and address key aspects such as feeding schedules, exercise requirements, grooming routines, and any special health or behavioral considerations. For example, it’s important to know if the pet has specific dietary restrictions, requires medication, or prefers a certain type of activity. Open communication allows me to provide consistent care that aligns with the owner’s routine, ensuring the pet feels secure and happy in their absence. By sharing updates and being attentive to the pet’s needs, I build trust and confidence in my ability to care for their beloved animal.

A typical day

As a pet sitter, I love keeping dogs happy, active, and engaged with fun activities tailored to their personality and energy levels. For an active dog, I’ll plan daily walks or jogs around the neighborhood, interactive play sessions with their favorite toys, and games like fetch or tug-of-war to burn off energy. For more curious or laid-back pups, I’ll introduce stimulating activities like puzzle toys, training exercises to reinforce commands, or leisurely sniffing walks to explore new scents. No matter the activity, my goal is to ensure your dog feels loved, entertained, and well cared for during our time together.

Pet care experience

As a dedicated and experienced pet sitter with a strong background in providing attentive care to animals, I bring years of hands-on experience, and am committed to ensuring pets feel comfortable, safe, and loved while their owners are away. My professionalism, reliability, and ability to adapt to each pet’s unique needs make me an ideal candidate to provide top-notch pet sitting services. My background goes into a passion of taking care of stray dogs since I was 16, working in shelters and ASPCA during my high school education and walked and sat dogs in busy environments big such as NYC and LA to quiet subsurban neighborhoods, I can confidently say your pet is in good hands.

We had our first Rover experience and it was amazing! Lydia started us off with a meet and greet before we booked! She asked lots of questions about our animals habits and preferences. Once our pet sitting responsibilities began, she was in daily contact with us about our pets' activities. Pictures were sent every day. We were absolutely delighted with how well Lydia bonded with our animals and how thoughtful she was about their care! Thank you, Lydia! You are awesome!

Lydia was wonderful. We had never left Presley with a sitter and she seemed very comfortable and took to Lydia right away. Her care was great and we will definitely be booking Lydia again
