Availability

I work remotely full time, so I can be around during the day and keep your pet company, with walks and care fitting around my working day. I’m also happy to set up my laptop at your place :) For overnight stays, it really depends on your home and location, so I like to arrange a meet and greet first to make sure it works for everyone.

Safety, trust & environment

I’m fully insured for pet sitting and dog walking, including public liability cover, this is separate from Rover, as they don’t provide insurance as standard. I treat your home, belongings, and security with the same care and respect as my own. I’ll always confirm walk times, durations, and feeding schedules from the start to keep your pet’s routine as normal as possible. Sticking closely to their routine helps them feel comfortable and settled while you’re away.

Information Lydia P. would like to know about your pet

I’ve got experience with all kinds of dogs, including seniors, and I’m comfortable giving oral medication when needed. I do prefer well-behaved dogs, as it makes it easier to keep things calm and consistent for everyone. I’ve mostly looked after medium-sized dogs, but I’m happy handling larger ones too. It really helps to know any cues or phrases your dog responds to, especially for off-lead recall, as well as any quirks, like if they tend to run off or how they are with other dogs and people. It’s also useful to know if they’re happy travelling in the car. For longer stays, I’d really appreciate a simple info sheet with things like meal and toilet schedules, plus any routines or instructions for your home. And on a personal note, I love having your dog around while I work, it’s a great excuse for an extra screen break (aka cuddle time!).

A typical day

My day usually includes a good walk, often along Exmouth beach or nearby, so your dog will get plenty of exercise. I’m happy to walk on or off lead, though I tend to start on the lead so they can get used to me and my voice. I love being outdoors, whether that’s the coast or Dartmoor. If I’m staying overnight, I’d appreciate knowing your usual routine so I can keep things consistent.

Pet care experience

I’ve been pet and house sitting on Rover since 2023 and have looked after all sorts of dogs and cats, including senior pets and those needing oral medication. I work remotely full time, so I’m generally quite flexible, though walks and routines do need to fit around my working day. I grew up with our family dog, Harvey, who we had for 16 years, and he really cemented my love for animals. I would love to help look after your pet in their own home, where they have their own bed, routine, and space to feel safe and happy. Whether you have a dog or a cat (or both!), I’m here to help. I'm based in Exmouth and have set my service radius to include nearby areas. I look forward to meeting you and your pet!

I recently had the pleasure of having Lydia as our dog sitter, and I can't recommend her highly enough! From the very beginning, her communication was excellent; she kept me updated throughout the day, which put my mind at ease. My dog, Finn, had such a wonderful time with her! It was clear that he was happy and well cared for, which is the most important thing for any pet owner. Lydia was also incredibly accommodating with all my requests, showing her willingness to go the extra mile. Overall, I’m very happy with the care Lydia provided and will definitely be booking her again in the future!

Lydia was fantastic. My pup had the best time with her and the house was pristine when I got back. Will definitely use her again!

Lydia took great care of Delilah and Milo. She kept me well informed, sent photos and kept me reassured. And the house was left very tidy. Thank you so much! I would highly recommend.

Very calm and reassuring. Super reliable and accommodating when I needed to change timings slightly. Both pets seemed very relaxed with Lydia. Would definitely ask to pet- sit again.
