Pet care experience

Reliable, loving care for your dog!

Hello! My name is Lydia, and I have 4 years of experience working in a pet hospital, where I learned how to care for animals of all ages, temperaments, and medical needs. I also have 4 years of experience on Rover, along with additional experience working for a local pet sitting company. Most of my bookings have been with dogs, and I'm comfortable caring for everything from energetic puppies to senior dogs who need a calmer, more patient approach. I'm patient, attentive, and genuinely enjoy spending time with animals—whether that means walks, playtime, cuddles, or simply keeping them company while you're away. I carefully follow each pet's normal routine, including feeding schedules, potty breaks, medications, and any special instructions you provide. I currently work a part-time job, so if I'm providing house sitting, there may be periods during the day when I'm away for work (typically 4–6 hours, occasionally longer depending on my schedule). I'm always transparent about my availability before confirming a booking so we can make sure it's the right fit for your pet's needs. If your pet requires continuous supervision or cannot be left alone for several hours, please let me know before booking so we can discuss whether I'm the best sitter for them. Clear communication is very important to me, and I believe discussing expectations beforehand helps create the best experience for both pets and their owners. While I primarily work with dogs, I also have experience caring for cats and am happy to provide drop-in visits, overnight care, and companionship for feline friends as well. I treat every pet as if they were my own and always prioritize their safety, comfort, and happiness. I highly recommend scheduling a meet & greet before your booking so we can get to know each other, discuss your pet's routine, and ensure we're all a great fit. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family members! 🐾

Pets

Safety, trust & environment

When caring for pets in a client’s home, my goal is to keep their routine normal and stress-free as possible. I carefully follow all instructions for feeding, potty breaks, walks, playtime, medications, and any other special care your pet may need. For house sitting, I provide attentive care, companionship, and regular updates while respecting both your pets routine and your home. For drop-ins, I make sure each visit includes quality time, whether that’s walks, play, or just hanging out. For dog walks, I pay attention to energy, leash manners, and safety, adjusting each walk to the dog’s needs. I treat every home with the same respect and care I would my own, and I believe clear communication and regular updates help pet parents feel confident and relaxed while they are away.

This sitter did not live up to her end of the agreement. Our dogs were left in their kennels for a total of 10 hours on the first day due to her job. Day 2 would have been the same but we had Rover find us another sitter and we had to pay again for his services. We were out of town while all of this was happening. She did not disclose the fact that she had a job and agreed to our expectations in the beginning. Do not leave your pets in her care, or lack there of.

Amazing! It is our first time using Rover so we were a bit nervous but Lydia gave us peace of mind. Right away our pups felt comfortable with her. She gave us updates and pictures while they were in her care.

Lydia was amazing with our dogs! She constantly gave us updates and sent us pictures of them while we were gone and they even looked ecstatic to have her there in the pictures. Definitely going to be booking her for every trip we take.

Schedule

Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine, and I plan my schedule around each booking to ensure every pet receives the time, attention, and care they deserve. I currently work a part-time job with shifts that are typically 4–6 hours long. Before confirming a booking, I always communicate my schedule so owners know what to expect and we can make sure it's the right fit for their pet's routine. I prioritize feeding times, potty breaks, exercise, medications (if needed), and maintaining each pet's normal routine as closely as possible. Clear communication and thoughtful planning are important to me, and I believe discussing expectations in advance helps create a positive experience for both pets and their owners.

To make sure I give the best care, it’s helpful to know your pet’s routines, likes and dislikes, any medications or special needs, and any quirks or triggers I should be aware of. I also appreciate info about their energy level, favorite toys or activities, and how they feel about walks, strangers, or other pets. The more I know, the more comfortable and happy your furry friend will be while you’re away!
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
