I have no pets of my own. I live on a quiet street and have a small fenced yard. I also have lots of parks nearby for lovely walks. Dogs are allowed everywhere in my home and can hang out with me on the sofa. I am happy for dogs to stay in my room at night, but they must be in their own bed or crate.

Information Lydia M. would like to know about your pet

I’d love to know your dog’s feeding schedule and if they have any special dietary requirements. I often walk in busy areas so it’s useful to know how your dog gets on with others and whether they are able to be off the lead or not

A typical day

I love to get out for a couple of walks during the day so your dog can explore and get rid of some energy! I think mental stimulation is also super important so this might involve games like hide and seek, or searching for hidden treats. I am also partial to a chill out on the sofa so we have plenty of down time too.

Pet care experience

I have grown up always with a dog in the house. At the age of 3 my family got a Westie called Murphy. He was my best friend til he passed away when I was 17. We then got a cockapoo Nelly, who is now 11 and living her best life with my parents. I took Nell to weekly puppy training classes where we focussed on basic commands like sit, stay, paw, recall as well as loose lead training. When I lived away from home to Oxford, I really missed having a dog around, so I joined Borrow My Doggy, and looked after a small dog called Nola. I would take her out for regular walks and sometimes take her to my house for a sleep over if her owner was working a night shift. I have now bought my own house and I’d love to have a pet, but I can’t commit due to the long hours I work on some days. Being able to look after other people’s pets is a fab chance for me to get my animal fix!

Lydia was lovely, from the first moment we met her. Milo is normally nervous around new people, but warmed to her quickly. Lydia sent regular updates with photos, which eased any worries we may have had. We would definitely recommend Lydia. 🐾

💯 recommend Lydia. Darcy was very well looked after and looked to have a great time and was very much at home. Was kept up to date with photos. Thanks so much!

Lydia is the reason I got my own dog! After spending time with Lydia’s family dog, seeing how well behaved and lovely she was, that was enough to convince me that I absolutely needed my own. Lydia is kind, patient and provides all dogs that she meets with so much love and attention. My own dog absolutely loves Lydia and she is my first choice of help whenever I need someone to look after him.
