Pets

Safety, trust & environment

I live at home with our family cat, Luna, who is pictured in my cat care service; I also recently adopted a kitten named Mochi. When catsitting I usually will come check once a day on the cats, making sure they have food, water, and scooped litter. Sometimes I will engage in play (using a cat toy), but many cats can be scared of strangers. When dogsitting, I will usually come over morning and evening, let them out to do business, pick up any poo, feed them, make sure they have water, then let them outside again before I leave. For chickens, once a day I will check/mark eggs, fill feed/water containers, and clean if needed. Lastly, I can also administer medication to pets if needed.

Pups seemed quite happy with Lydia and she was wonderful providing initial meet & greet and then being extremely punctual arriving at the crack of dawn so we could get an early start and staying until we returned the following evening. She sent photos through our absence so we felt assured that all was well & even let these spoiled pups sleep with her!

Lydia has a special connection with animals and has loved them since she was a small child. She is currently attending college to become a veterinarian. Lydia demonstrates great kindness and knowledge in caring for pets. She and her family raised chickens, adopted a couple of little pygmy goats, that needed to be bottle fed, and they have cats. Lydia is gentle and patient with animals and shows great attention and responsibility for their care and wellbeing. Lydia attends church regularly and teaches bible classes. She is the oldest of five children and provides great love and tender care to her siblings. She was in marching band throughout high school and continues band in college. She is a hard worker, and graduated with honors and won several scholarships. I highly recommend Lydia for a position with Rover.

We are so grateful for Lydia's help with our cats! Lydia is a member of our church family, and we have seen her grow into a responsible and caring young woman. Knowing that she is attending college to be a veterinarian and being a pet owner herself, we felt totally at ease to have her look after our cats for a week while being out of town. We left a list describing our cat's needs and Lydia followed them completely. We would 100% recommend Lydia to anyone that is in need of a pet sitter!
