Availability
I am available regularly over the next few weeks. Because I work from home, I can prioritize more spontaneous engagement, including walks, potty breaks, and snuggling (if desired).

Safety, trust & environment
All dogs have different needs that I am careful to honor. I have experience taking dogs to the vet, supporting them during illnesses, and walking reactive dogs. I am cognizant of dogs' boundaries and know it is hard for them to be away from their families. I am careful to respect parents' guidelines for amount of exercise and play that dogs need, and I do not feed dogs people food unless I know their dietary restrictions. (I once had a dog that was gluten intolerant - LA, am I right?) I am also a consistent communicator and readily send updates and pictures as desired. My own home is a dog-friendly apartment which is close to great areas to walk, including neighborhoods, green space trails, and a large park.
Information Lydia G. would like to know about your pet
It's important to me to know the reactivity of your dog, how they interact with other dogs and humans on walks, and what sort of places they like to go. Games your dog enjoys playing (fetch, tug of war, sprint around for no reason) are also good to know in advance. I also will need to know your dog's veterinary information and any medical needs, as well as any food intolerances (or bad habits) that I need to be aware of.
A typical day
We'll go on a long walk by a nice wetland, or by the Willamette River. We can also stroll and look at the Christmas lights if we prefer a neighborhood setting (I'm open minded). We can also run around the park and/or show off all their tricks and earn an appropriate amount of treats... the world is our oyster.

Pet care experience
My family had dogs growing up (and snakes, and lizards, and fish, and birds), and I have had a few roommates with cats, so I'm very comfortable and happy around animals and not put off by (a reasonable amount of) chaos. I served regularly as a cat and dog sitter during graduate school for friends and colleagues to supplement my income; some highlights included vet trips, boiling chicken to treat pancreatitis, long neighborhood walks that mysteriously ended up at a pet store, and being gifted a dead rabbit. I also have some experience volunteering at Heartland Humane.
Reviews

Lydia took great care of Walley the dog. She was proactive in learning of his special needs so she could best care for him. She was very communicative about how he was doing while she had him and we would happily have her care for him again.
Lydia has watched after our dogs several times, and they love her! She is very caring and attentive to their needs. Our late corgi had some health issues and once became ill while we were away. Lydia was quickly communicative about what was going on, took him to the vet, and even cooked him chicken and rice to settle his tummy. We absolutely trust her with our pets and would highly recommend her to others!
