Hi, I’m Lydia! I’ve been on Rover for a year and a half, but I have over 7 years of hands-on pet care experience. I started dog sitting for friends and family when I was 16 and have also volunteered at multiple animal shelters and worked at both Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle and Red River Zoo in Fargo, ND. I currently work at Petco as an Animal Care Specialist, where I care for all kinds of animals and dogs. I have experience with everything from young puppies to senior dogs, and I especially enjoy training and working with dogs who have behavioral challenges. I also have a dog of my own who I raised and trained from a puppy. I truly love working with animals and treat every pet I care for like they’re my own!

Safety, trust & environment
For dog walks and drop-ins, I always want both you and your pet to feel comfortable and taken care of while you’re away. I make sure to all the instruction provided and stick to your pet’s normal routine as closely as I can. If that means taking them on their usual walk, giving them some playtime during a drop-in, or just hanging out with them for a bit, I'm happy to do it! I will also be very respectful of your home and will make sure everything is left just how I found it. Most importantly, I treat every pet like my own and always keep their safety and happiness in mind.

She took incredible care of my dog right at home, and it gave me such peace of mind knowing my pup was safe, happy, and loved while we were away. Lydia was professional, reliable, and clearly has a natural gift with animals. She kept us updated with photos and messages, which made us feel connected and reassured the whole time. When we returned, my dog was calm, content, and clearly well cared for—it was like we had never left! The house was also well taken care of and she went above and beyond to make sure everything was in perfect order including taking out the trash. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, kind, and amazing dog sitter. We will definitely be booking with her soon again now that we know her and can plan more trips where we won't have to worry about our dog! 🐾💛
I really appreciate Lydia's care for my dog for three days. My dog has a nervous nature but he liked Lydia immediately. I think he was very comfortable and Lydia's communication was great. He was so tired after he returned home from the long walks and extra attention. I will definitely work with Lydia again and would recommend for dog sitting.
Lydia did a fantastic job looking after my dog Sue for a week! I think he was almost sad to go home.

Schedule
I currently work part-time at Petco, which gives me a very flexible schedule for pet sitting. I work closing shifts Wednesday through Friday from 4:00–9:15 PM, so I’m unavailable during those hours, but I’m generally free the rest of the week and can be very flexible with drop-ins, walks, and pet sitting. I’m happy to work with you to find a schedule that works best for both you and your pets!
