Pet care experience

From the land of Wild Creatures<3

I have had cats, dogs, horses, and all manor of wonderful creatures baby-sitting me since I was a baby, and now its my turn to give back! I currently am the back up caretaker for all of my family and friends, as well as one neighbor-turned-Auntie. I live with three cats and several horses since, sadly, all three of our dogs have moved on to dog heaven, including my personal companion chihuahua who I had for over 14 beautiful years, rambunctious as she was. I am highly skilled in puppy care since I grew up raising Shetland sheepdog puppies for over 12 years and senior care is a breeze since we have had all our dogs grow to be seniors in the past few years. I thoroughly enjoy taking care of pets since they have always been so amazing to me and I can't wait to make some more fur-friends!

Safety, trust & environment

I currently care for a massive senior German shepherd who teaches me more tricks these days than I do her, a wonderful young and wild little shi-poo, have had the most gentle sensitive shetland sheepdog company over most of my life, and one of our neighbor's fresh three-week old puppies! I don't discriminate by breed since I have played with them all! That said, I know my fair share of crafty yorkie's who open doors, pit bull's who are hide-and-seek experts, and huskies who know every appliance in the house! I know how looks can be deceiving. So I treat all dogs like the smartest, craftiest wonders as a standard and always ensure that any gates are locked, doors are secure, trouble areas are blocked, and no sneaking past allowed! Please let me know of any door manners that should be reinforced and respected as well as your three most used cues or words if any are needed during the visit. Thanks to that wonderful Shepherd I care for regularly, I am very familiar with common and specific sign language in case of the need for hearing-disabled puppers and kitties. Please let me know if there are any cues needed to care for puppers and kitties that are disabled in any way during house visits or walks and I am happy to serve them! When on walks, I am very knowledgeable about those wild impulses to catch the nearest hare or chase a surprise deer and enjoy taking great gentle care with all dogs, I am strong in my own right so no worries necessary when handling dogs that could even be twice my weight! I have experience with e-collars if needed and I am no stranger to certified working dogs and their very specific needs. I do NOT feed any treats without permission and am happy to stick to what you prefer to use with them as well as any habits or training systems catered to both puppers and kitties. I tend to mold to the distinct personality of the pupper or kitty I am spending time with so if they are a little shy, I might be content to just sit and relax with them and wait for them to make the first move for pets and scritches but I am always ready to jump up and play! I am after all the fetching queen and skilled frisbee thrower!

Schedule

I am currently working part-time at most but taking it easy after getting back from my 7-month deployment so I would enjoy some extra canine and feline company anytime. I enjoy reinforcing owner-oriented training on working walks for puppies and older dogs who are used to working walks as well. I frequently go out for walks by myself as it is since I am looking forward to getting two new puppies soon but not yet since we want the timing to be just right, so I am available for walks anytime. Please let me know if your pup has any allergies to plants or certain bugs they should steer clear of on walks and we will have an awesome time. Otherwise, I am used to dropping in on a few houses across the county when friends or family members are away and I know how important being on-time for feeding and potty breaks! Please let me know where any emergency cleaning supplies are in case of any accidents, I am happy to make sure they are taken care of during a visit as an extra courtesy to your loyal puppers and brave kitties.

Safety and Medical concerns first! After that, anything that you feel is important that I know about their personality and habits as well as favorite toys and best tricks are highly encouraged! We get to know eachother better as we go along but I like to know at least the top 5 most important medical needs, safety requirements, and personality traits of your special furbaby❤️.
