The Dog Nanny, Certified R+
I’m Lydia, a lifelong dog mom who turned my passion for dogs into a full-time dog nannying & training lifestyle. My passion and professionalism are rare, but my ability to read dogs is what sets me apart. I have a deeply intuitive, relational approach to working with dogs that immediately puts their owners at ease. I'll meet you and your dog wherever you're at with hands-on help, free education, and ongoing communication about how they're doing. I believe every dog deserves exercise, enrichment, and engagement that works for how they're wired. I’m especially passionate about helping busy people with working-breeds. I have raised dogs from puppyhood, rehabilitated anxious rescues, and cared for senior dogs with special needs. I provide custom care to every family, so if you have a special request don’t hesitate to ask. *Meet & greet with my 2 dogs is required before first-time daycare or overnight requests. *All dogs must be up-to-date on pest prevention & vaccines. No exceptions.

Handled my pets with very good care

Lydia really helped us out in a difficult time on short notice and Rocky loves her!

Lydia was great and very communicative! Our dog loved her and we will definitely be using her again!

Thank you Lydia! The photos and videos of my pup having fun were great! Thanks for asking about my cats too. I could tell you are very experienced and knowledgeable about dogs. I appreciate you.

Lydia was the best! Usually Waylon is super anxious and scared around new people but it seemed like he warmed up so fast to Lydia! She sent lots of cute photos of Waylon and took him outside during the rain storm. Will definitely call her again!

Schedule
Pet care is my full time "job" (passion). My own two dogs set the rhythm of the day with regular walks, snuggles, naps, and play sessions, and my regulars help reinforce the routine when new friends join us for a day or two. My 2 dogs are trained, neutered males with medium-high energy levels and high social skills. I am present throughout the day to supervise, play with the dogs, and help make sure everyone feels at home. Weekends are just as consistent—dogs get the same structure and care, but multiplied x2 since my dog-loving husband is home. (We can accommodate dogs who fear men.)

Home characteristics
Safety, trust & environment
I keep a clean, dog-friendly home with safety gates, dozens of toys, and 100% dog-friendly furniture. Dogs are never left alone for long stretches, and I tailor their play groups depending on the dogs' personalities, energy levels, and varying social skills + moods. While I don’t have an attached yard, we make up for it with frequent strolls over to the nearby dog park. In clients’ homes, I follow your established routines closely so your babies feel secure and cared for in their own space.
Pets
A typical day
A typical day here includes enrichment through frozen lick mats and challenging treat toys, plenty of basking time on the screened-in porch, and daily walks + trips to the dog park. We stick to scheduled meal and nap times to allow decompression, rest, and foster a sense of pack mentality. During the day it’s usually just me with the dogs, but when my husband gets home around 5, he joins in the fun. He has a special gift for earning the trust of reactive or male-fearful dogs, which only adds to the quality of care we provide.
