The Dog Nanny, Certified R+ Trainer

I’m Lydia, a lifelong dog mom who turned my passion for dogs into a full-time dog nannying career. GPC Certified Trainer, privately insured and registered LLC. What sets me apart is the way I form a bond with every dog in my care. I have a deeply intuitive, relational approach informed by science and psychology. We see “pets” as family, so I carefully blend structure with fun so that every dog gets their unique needs met. Every pup gets exercise, enrichment, and engagement that fits their personality. I’m especially passionate about helping working professionals with high-energy breeds meet their dogs' needs for exercise & enrichment. I have hands-on experience raising big breeds from puppyhood, rehabilitating anxious rescues, and caring for senior dogs with special medical needs. I provide custom care to every family, so if you have a special request don’t hesitate to ask. (Additional fees may apply.) *Meet & greet with my 2 dogs is required before I accept first-time daycare/overnight requests. *All dogs must be current on pest prevention as well as vaccines. No exceptions.

Lydia was the best! Usually Waylon is super anxious and scared around new people but it seemed like he warmed up so fast to Lydia! She sent lots of cute photos of Waylon and took him outside during the rain storm. Will definitely call her again!

Schedule

Pet care is my full time "job" (passion). My own two dogs set the rhythm of the day with regular walks, snuggles, naps, and play sessions, and my regulars help reinforce the routine when new friends join us for a day or two. My 2 dogs are trained, neutered males with medium-high energy levels and high social skills. I am present throughout the day to supervise, play with the dogs, and help make sure everyone feels at home. Weekends are just as consistent—dogs get the same structure and care, but multiplied x2 since my dog-loving husband is home. (We can accommodate dogs who fear men.)

Safety, trust & environment

I keep a clean, dog-friendly home with safety gates, dozens of toys, and 100% dog-friendly furniture. Dogs are never left alone for long stretches, and I tailor their play groups depending on the dogs' personalities, energy levels, and varying social skills + moods. While I don’t have an attached yard, we make up for it with frequent strolls over to the nearby dog park. In clients’ homes, I follow your established routines closely so your babies feel secure and cared for in their own space.

Pets

A typical day

A typical day here includes enrichment through frozen lick mats and challenging treat toys, plenty of basking time on the screened-in porch, and daily walks + trips to the dog park. We stick to scheduled meal and nap times to allow decompression, rest, and foster a sense of pack mentality. During the day it’s usually just me with the dogs, but when my husband gets home around 5, he joins in the fun. He has a special gift for earning the trust of reactive or male-fearful dogs, which only adds to the quality of care we provide.

I need to know your dog’s daily routine, temperament, and any special needs before they arrive. Please share their feeding schedules, medications, allergies, quirks, and any comfort items that help them settle in. I also appreciate knowing about triggers or behavioral tendencies (like resource guarding, separation anxiety, or destruction) so I can keep them comfortable and safe from the start. *Meet & greet with my 2 dogs is required before I accept first time daycare/boarding requests. **See vaccine & preventative medicines policy above.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
