Flexible & Reliable Dog Mom
Hi, I'm Lydia, a passionate dog-mom who became a full-time professional dog nanny & certified dog trainer. I first discovered the need for trustworthy dog nannies as a single young professional working 60+ hours per week, who had just rescued a large, working-breed dog with separation anxiety. I found an amazing doggy-daycare back then, but after meeting my husband and moving to Greenville, it became apparent that I needed to become a stay-at-home-dog-mom for our two fur babies. There was simply nobody around us at the time who could give them the level of care and consistency they needed... except me. I ultimately started my business in order to give other dog moms and dog dads the very thing I needed at that time: peace of mind. If you're in need of routine, hands-on help from someone who understands 'difficult' dogs, cares about people, and knows the ropes of being a dog owner--you're in the right place. I've been blessed beyond belief to be known as "The Dog Nanny," or, "Aunt Lydia," by so many dogs & families over the years. It's a dream come true to get to play with puppies every single day.

Handled my pets with very good care

Lydia really helped us out in a difficult time on short notice and Rocky loves her!

Lydia was great and very communicative! Our dog loved her and we will definitely be using her again!

Thank you Lydia! The photos and videos of my pup having fun were great! Thanks for asking about my cats too. I could tell you are very experienced and knowledgeable about dogs. I appreciate you.

Lydia was the best! Usually Waylon is super anxious and scared around new people but it seemed like he warmed up so fast to Lydia! She sent lots of cute photos of Waylon and took him outside during the rain storm. Will definitely call her again!

Schedule
Dog-Nannying is my full-time job, so I've built my schedule to be flexible around clients' needs. Apart from special requests and appointments, I'm generally available from 10 am to 8 pm for dog walks/hikes/adventures, drop-in visits, daycare, and training. Overnight stays are typically reserved to Friday and Saturday nights. I'm always happy to consider special scheduling needs, and I do offer pick-up and drop-off services (aka "dog taxi") when needed.

Home characteristics
Safety, trust & environment
Inside clients' homes, I always follow your routine and try to leave the space better than I found it. At home, I keep a clean, dog-proofed house with safety gates, tons of toys, and 100% dog-friendly furniture. Dogs are rarely left home alone, if ever, and never for long stretches of time. I tailor their play and activities depending on their individual personalities, energy levels, and varying social skills + daily moods. While I don’t have an attached yard, we make up for it with frequent strolls over to the nearby, private dog park. (Please review my policies for vaccinations, pest preventatives, and meet & greets for daycare bookings, listed at the end of my profile.)
Pets
A typical day
Every dog deserves exercise, enrichment, and social engagement--every single day. To meet those needs, we go for walks, play fetch, tug, chase, and wrestle. The dogs regularly get frozen lick mats, brain-games, stuffed Kongs/bones, and scent-work opportunities (with owner permission). Above and beyond teaching tricks, manners, and skills throughout the week--I build a deep, trusting bond with each dog I watch over. I spend time observing them, analyzing their patterns, asking you questions, and trying different things to see what works best for your dog as an individual.

- Please tell me about your dog’s daily routine, general temperament, and any special needs before arrival. I'll also ask about their feeding schedule, medications, allergies, quirks, and any comfort items that help them settle. If they have any reactivity triggers or behavioral tendencies (like resource guarding, separation anxiety, or destruction), please inform me right away so I can keep them comfortable and safe from the start. I'm especially passionate about helping anxious and reactive fur babies find their confidence. PLEASE NOTE: * A meet & greet with my 2 dogs is required before I accept any first-time daycare/overnight requests. No exceptions. * Daycare & overnight clients must have their dogs vaccinated for Rabies, DHPP, Bordatella (Kennel Cough), and Leptospirosis, and must also use flea, tick, and heart worm prevention. No exceptions. Documentation is expected.
