It’s important for me to know your pet’s routine, personality, energy level, and any medical or dietary needs ahead of time. I also like to know what they enjoy (and don’t), their leash manners, feeding schedule, and any quirks that help them feel comfortable and safe.
A typical day
A typical day with me is calm, attentive, and built around your pet’s routine. We start with walks or outdoor time, followed by feeding, play, and plenty of check-ins throughout the day. Activities are tailored to each pet’s personality—walks, sniffing adventures, fetch, puzzle toys, or relaxed play and cuddles. I focus on positive reinforcement, safety, and making sure pets feel comfortable and happy. I also send regular updates and photos so you always know how your pet is doing.

I've always had pets in my life, and caring for animals is second nature to me. I have a degree in veterinary medicine (though I don’t practice in a clinic), and I now work for a conservation nonprofit from home with my own beloved dog and cat. This means I have a flexible schedule and can provide plenty of attention, walks, and playtime for your pet. Whether your pup needs some exercise, your cat wants company, or you'd like someone to work from your home while keeping your pet happy, I’m here to help!

Luz was immediately comfortable with my two Belgian malinois who are not always immediately friendly. She kept me supplied with news and photos the whole time I was away and I came back to two well-exercised and happy dogs. I really can’t think of anything I would have changed about the visit
Luz is a very skilled and compassionate pet caregiver, and a lovely human in general. She has provided exceptional care for both our dog and our cat over the years. Her approach to animals is very calm, confident, and caring. Our dog is always very excited to see her. Luz is also very knowledgeable about animal health and wellness, and is very attentive to any special needs a pet might have. I absolutely hate to go out of town if one of our pets needs medication or special treatment, but knowing our pet's are in Luz's care completely puts our minds at ease. Your pets will be in excellent hands with Luz. I can't recommend her enough.
It doesn't get any better than Luz! She has all the experience and care skills you and your pet need. She is an incredibly caring, thoughtful, and attentive person, and... she is a veterinarian! Whether your dog (or cat) needs peaceful and quiet time, or a long run out in the forest, or whether your dog loves accompanied alone time or has separation anxiety, she can take care of that and everything in between. She is extremely reliable and professional, and great at communicating about everything that is necessary to give your pet the best time, and give you peace of mind. Can't recommend her enough!
