Force-Free & Special Needs Care
Hello! My name is Luisa, and my pets are my whole world. I promise to take care of your babies as if they were my own. I am especially passionate about working with animals who may be fearful or have special needs. I have previously completed a two-year apprenticeship under a force-free dog trainer in Calgary, and although I am not currently working as a trainer due to completing my master's, what I learned informs all my interactions with animals. Through fostering and our own pets, I have experience administering medications to a wide range of animals (dogs, cats, bearded dragons, geckos, hedgehogs). At home, my husband and I have two dogs, a cat, and a multitude of reptiles and exotics. We also foster from time to time, which has given us experience with so many other species and personalities. My pets would describe me as a helicopter mom, I would describe me as attentive! When I travel, our pet-sitter gets a multi-page document on everyone's needs, so I am not intimidated to receive the same; this just means I can adjust my routine to your pet(s)'...it is their home after all!

Luisa did such a wonderful job looking after our three pups! One of our dogs is a fearful rescue, and Luisa took the extra time to build trust with her, which really meant a lot to us. She was incredibly communicative, provided plenty of updates, and followed all of our instructions diligently. We felt very comfortable knowing our pups were in such good hands while we were away. We would absolutely use Luisa’s services again. Thank you so much for taking such great care of our furkids!

Luisa has cared for my pets and home previously and each time has been a great experience. She is knowledgeable about cat and dog behaviour, which was very helpful for my cat who didn’t enjoy strangers in my home. She is reliable and responsible, and I would trust her again with my pets and home without question.
Luisa provided excellent care for my very shy, very scared cat Penny. She sent me pictures and it was like they had always been best friends. I think Luisa got more cuddles than I do! I cannot recommend her enough, her care for animals shines through from the first conversation and I knew Penny was in great hands. I was able to travel with no worries or guilt for being away.

Harmonogram
I am in Red Deer for a practicum placement Monday-Wednesday, and in Calgary the remainder of the week. I can be somewhat flexible with this, so please feel free to message me!
