Hi, I'm Luisa! I'm originally from Spain and have been living in England for almost 11 years. Animals have been part of my life for as long as I can remember, I grew up surrounded by dogs, pigeons, parrots and more, and I currently share my home with a 10 year old cat. EXPERIENCE: I have taken care of animals from friends and family, mostly dogs, cats and rodents, but I have accrued 3 years of experience as a professional dog sitter. After stepping away for a while to focus on other jobs as a chef, sales assistant and marketing executive, I'm now back to pet sitting while I study towards a career in Psychology (for humans), although, my interest in behaviour and wellbeing also extends to animals. DOGS: I'm a dedicated self-learner. During the time I wasn't actively working as a sitter, I kept studying canine behaviour, following professionals who stay up to date with current research and apply it through positive reinforcement, a training and care approach based on rewarding good behaviour rather than punishing unwanted behaviour. I'm not a dog trainer, but this knowledge allows me to understand much better dogs' body language. OTHER INFO: - My fees can vary depending on your needs as well, costs are lower if you need more frequent visits and 60-minutes walks. Get in touch for a personalised quote! - While I'm looking after your pet, I'm also happy to keep an eye on your home. This includes watering your indoor and outdoor plants, collecting your post, and alternating lights or curtains so your home looks lived-in while you're away. All at no extra cost, just as part of the service. - I can administer basic medication, both topical and oral. - I'm able to reply to messages quickly. - Please note: I have a cat who isn't used to being around dogs, which is why I'm not able to offer overnight boarding at my own home. However, I do offer house sitting at your home. TRUST & SAFETY: Free Meet & Greet: - Before your first booking, I offer a free introductory visit so your pet (and you!) can meet me, ask any questions, and feel comfortable before we start. No pressure, no obligation. - Photos & videos included in every service, so you can see how your pet is doing. Key safety: Keys are stored securely and privately, never labelled with your name or address. I'm happy to use a key safe or smart lock if you have one, and keys are returned or securely stored between visits, whichever you prefer. Emergency protocol: If your pet needs veterinary attention and I can't reach you, I will take them to the vet myself. Insurance & DBS check: I'm currently in the process of arranging public liability insurance and a Basic DBS (background) check, both of which I consider essential for the trust this job requires.
