I easily connect with all animals and once acquainted, dogs feel very relaxed and safe around me. I only watch one clients' pets at a time. I am a one person household with no other pets at this time, however, I have owned and cared for pets most of my life. I am experienced with large breed dogs, senior dog care and post-op care. My home is very dog-friendly and dog-proofed, with a large fenced in dog play area in the yard. Additionally, I can take your dogs on local walks to Illinois Beach State Park and the local Forest Preserve Trails, as I love the exercise myself.

Lucy was great with our dog and we were so comfortable leaving our precious baby with her. I believe our dog was a little sad to leave and will miss her until the next time!
Lucy was absolutely wonderful watching my dog, Charlie. I got married this weekend, and everyone I normally trust to watch him was going to be at the wedding, so I needed to find an alternative. Charlie is older and anxious, which honestly makes me anxious leaving him with someone new. Lucy was incredibly kind and reassuring from the start. She answered all of my questions and even offered to meet beforehand so Charlie could sniff around and get comfortable in her home. That meant so much to me and really helped ease my worries. During his stay, Lucy sent plenty of photos and updates, which made a huge difference and helped me relax knowing Charlie was doing well. From the updates, it looked like he really enjoyed his time there! I would absolutely trust Lucy with Charlie again and would recommend her to anyone looking for someone kind, patient, and attentive to watch their pet.
Lucy was fantastic with Leon. I think he had more fun on his staycation than I did in my vacation! She sent lots of pictures and he got a ton of exercise and love. I will have Leon stay with Lucy again in our next trip.
Lucy took such good care of Dakota! It’s so nice to go on a trip and know your fur baby is being taken good care of. He had just lost his sister (Mocha) and was grieving but Lucy cheered him up and he did great!

This was our first time using Rover and we were pretty nervous because of some of the stories you hear, but after meeting Lucy we felt completely at ease. She is such a kind and genuine person that we instantly trusted her with our St. Bernard Millie. Millie can be semi reactive around other dogs, so knowing that Lucy has experience with dogs like her really eased our worries. Throughout the stay she kept us updated with photos and videos and made sure Millie was happy, active, and well cared for. We will definitely be using her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and attentive sitter.

Schedule
I am semi-retired, working on-line from home. There are no other adults, children or pets at my house. I make sure when booked for dog-sitting or overnight boarding that I have no other obligations, appointments or errands to do. I am with your pets full time and I do not have outside guests come to my house while watching your dog. I am quite happy to share my days with just your pet. I lost my senior dog Chuckie two years ago and I so enjoy the company of animals that I decided to take on a part time job watching other folks pets through Rover. You can rest assured your pet will be my sole priority while in my care. I am eager to help with your pet care needs and in order to best do that, I do require a "meet and greet" appointment prior to scheduling all pet care appointments.

I have an easy to maneuver ranch home with a large fenced in dog play area in my yard. Your pets can have the run of my house based on their behavior and maturity level. I do have large and small dog crates and if for some reason I must leave the house, your pets will be crated until I have eyes on them again. I am always in the yard with your pet and rest assured they are never left indoors or outdoors on their own. When out on walks your dog is always on a short leash and I am well versed on controlling dogs around other animals and people. I only watch one families dog/dogs at a time and never mix with other animals while out on walks. I am very detailed and observant and safety with your pet is my top priority. I will also send several updates and photos daily. I have plenty of bedding, indoor and outdoor toys, feeding dishes and high quality treats. All bedding, dishes and toys are cleaned between pet stays.
A typical day
I like to give young and able dogs a lot of physical exercise & stimulation which involves frequent play time with me in my fenced-in yard. I also live 10 to 15 minutes from Illinois Beach State Park and also Spring Bluff Forest Preserve Trails so if your dog likes car rides and new experiences I like to get outdoors as much as possible and go exploring all year round.
