Safety, trust & environment

I am living in a flat block, with a small balcony. I will let the dog out on the Balcony regularly and whenever they wish (this will always be supervised). I can also take the dogs out for frequent toilet breaks, by taking them on lead downstairs and down the street. My flat is right next to the beach, meaning play time on the beach or the areas surrounding is always available to us. My boyfriend, David, works from home, so is also around to keep an eye! He is in my photos, he has fluffy brown hair. On house visits, I am able to keep you conpletely updated on goings on. I will always be respectful of your home, and leave it as I found it. I can let your pet out, come take them for walks, feed them, play with them, and more. I have a clean UK Drivers License and a car, so am able to drive to you or transport your furry friend if needed. Whether on walks, a house visit, or boarding, I am always able to give frequent 'pupdates' and send photos of them having a lovely time.

Information Lucy P. would like to know about your pet

I like to know what your dogs normal routine is, so I can mimic that as much as possible, making them feel more comfortable in the unusual environment. It's also really important for me to know any behaviours they have so I can account for them. Any training you are doing with them is also really handy to know. Lastly, it would be great to know if they have any medical conditions so I can look after their welfare.

A typical day

I live next to the beach, so beach/promenade/hove beach park walks are something I love to do. We can also venture further to one of the parks within Brighton, or to the South Downs to get some longer exercise, as I have a car to transport us. I think enrichment activities are really important in keeping your dogs mind busy, so we will often play 'hunt the treat' games or create snuffly puzzles. We can also practice training and tricks, so if there is anything you are working on with your dog, let me know!

Pet care experience

I am a 29 year old artist, living in Hove with my boyfriend. We both love animals and believe our dogs are another family member. I have experience working with animals, having worked in the kennels at Dogs Trust in the past, and am volunteering there on a weekly basis now. I have completed the Introduction to Dog Behaviour course at Plumpton College, and hold a canine first aid qualification. Apart from taking care of my family dogs, I have been looking after dogs within my own home for 3 years now. One being a small terrier named Peggy. We have her overnight (2 days) each week. Peggy is very sweet, and sometimes can be reactive towards other dogs. We have been working with her on training for this. Additionally, we look after a friends puppy, who is learning to go to the toilet on the balcony, and settle down for nap times.

Lucy is kind and patient with my dogs and also great fun. My dogs, Boo and Noodle love spending time and going on walks with her. Lucy has taken the trouble to acquire some knowledge of dog first aid and is very interested dog welfare and training. She is a friendly person who is reliable and responsible and I highly recommend her.

Lucy is a great friend of mine as well my go-to trusted pet sitter for my 6 month old puppy Hatch. Looking after an energetic working breed puppy is no easy task and i have full trust in Lucy's ability to handle him, continue with his training and care for his needs. Hatch absolutely adores her and its always so fun to see him having such a great time with her in photo updates. She is very calm and patient as well as showing authority which is a great way to be with dogs. She's very adaptable to different dogs need so will follow your lead as an owner for the routine you lay out for their day. She has a very genuine love for animals and i'd highly recommend her to people looking to hire a responsible and loving pet sitter!

I can’t recommend Lucy and David enough! They’ve been looking after my Patterdale terrier, Peggy, for over two years now, and she absolutely adores them — she never wants to leave when I come to pick her up! Peggy isn’t the easiest dog; she’s a bit anti-social, can’t be trusted off the lead, and has had separation anxiety from her time as a stray. But with Lucy and David, I always know she’s happy, safe, and cared for like one of their own.

Lucy and her partner David are amazing with dogs. They have looked after our dog Pablo so many times now and he loves it every time! Lucy is super responsible and takes him on lovely walks by the beach and the countryside and I know she also enjoy his cuddles. The best sign is that whenever we get to their place, Pablo starts running towards their door, that's how much he loves them! Highly recommend leaving your dog with Lucy!!
