I am a University Student, local to Liverpool but don’t have an aversion on traveling a little bit! As a Student, my timetable is rather flexible, I have lots of holidays and I am usually not in classes for much longer than two to four hours! My weekends are mostly free as I enjoy being a homebody!

I like to tailor my care for the animal! Not every pet wants to be played with constantly! But, for the playful, energetic ones, I’m all for spending hours with tug of war, fetch, a laser pointer. The lazy sort that want to lounge about don’t bother me and I can be content in just sitting with pets if they’re uninterested in play. I have a mixed bag of personalities amongst my pets so I’ve had to do a range of things. I can make a walk as long or short as preferred so long as I’m equipped with their lead and harness/collar. I’m completely okay with cleaning litter boxes, and administering medication. I prefer to keep water out at all times but dependent on the pet I can keep their food available or restrict it to meal times. I love affectionate pets and don’t mind needy personalities, I have a particular pet that is much of the same (be reminded that none of my pets live with me while I am a student so you wouldn’t need to worry about other animals if your pet isn’t comfortable with them).

I don’t mind pet-sitting reactive animals, food aggressive pets, pets with additional needs (health, diet or walking requirements), etc, I just need to know ahead of time in order to prepare!
A typical day
I am flexible in lounging around with pets that have an aversion to activity (I’ve had them before) but I’m also completely willing to try my hardest to motivate them if it isn’t an underlying issue causing it! I love to play with pets in my care and don’t mind taking them exploring!

Pet care experience
I have experience with a range of pets! I have almost always owned a dog or cat, and have had my fair share of rodent pets. At the moment, I have five dogs, which live respectively with my parents while I’m a student! I have special skills, specializing in puppy and senior care! I’ve had my hand in whelping and nursing three puppy litters and raised them until they were old enough to be adopted since their mother wasn’t the most maternal, this also means I can specialise in pregnant canine care. I have had elderly pets, and dealt with oral medications as well as needle administered ones. I am well-versed in animal reactive dogs, as well as the nervous sort that aren’t very trusting at first and have plenty of patience. I love animals and I’m not picky with the more active or lazy personalities. I have potty trained puppies with pupppy mats and have experience with teaching them to go outside.

Lucy did a superb job looking after Mia, our Chow Chow - to the extent that we think Mia is missing her more than she did us! Lucy kept us informed with regular updates and photos, giving the whole family confidence that our dog was safe and happy at home in her usual routine while we were away for a few weeks. Chows tend to be very loyal to the people they like, so it was great to see that Lucy could befriend her almost immediately. It was very important for us to find the right person to look after our dog - an I'm so glad we did.
Lucy has cared for my animals for around five years by now, as a family friend. As someone who struggles with mobility as I am disabled, Lucy has taken my three dogs on walks down my local paths. She has cared for my pets, my dogs as well as two rats, by feeding, playing and regularly taking them outside or cleaning their enclosure, she’s never treated it as a chore and truly loves my animals. It’s a trait that makes puts me at ease to leave them alone with her. Lucy has stayed at my home alone, looking after my pets and keeping my home tidy as she stayed. She’s friendly with myself and my husband, and polite and I can only imagine she’d be professional because of it. My pets are excited to see her every visit and comfortable in sleeping around her and always readily waiting for her to play with them.
