Dom & Lucy: West Country Whisperers
Hello! Lucy and Dom here, we are experienced pet sitters that you can trust. With practise of handling a variety of dogs and cats, we are sensitive to each pets needs. We have been looking after dogs and cats for many years. This includes 7 months of recent back-to-back sits. For dogs, we provide highly quality, long walks full of fun, games, and interaction (at least two walks a day). We have a form to double check key infomation so that our care can be tailored. We are brilliantly able to adapt to your dogs needs, providing them lots of attention throughout the day and continuing with any training that you may be working on. If the pet leans on the anxious side, we trust our skillset. We sat for a cockerpoo for 5 weeks - she didn't want to be stroked for the first two days but that immediately changed on the third day. So it's clear: - BOARDING: We sadly cannot take on any large (25kg+) dogs. Some of our garden fences are 4ft and therefore our policies are to only take on small & medium sized dogs. - Within a typical week, we may pop out for up to 3 hours one evening (providing the pet can be left alone for 3+ hours). Otherwise, we are around. We only take one pet owner on at a time (up to two dogs from one owner). For cats, we make sure to give them lots of love care and attention. Playing games and curling up on the sofa together. We are sure that your pet will enjoy our company - with the two of us staying in their home or boarding in our home. We provide daily photo updates. Lucy and Dom have taken care of my little beagle Jackson twice now, house sitting over a few nights. They have been very detail-orientated with the planning, great at communicating prior to and during the stays, and I've come back to a tired and happy pup on both occasions! The house has also been left spotless both times. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
Thanks for a great service! Lucy and Dom looked after my goats, chickens, ducks and dog and it was such a relief knowing they were well taken care of. House was so clean and tidy to come back to and dog been walked as well. Thanks so much!
Dom and Lucy were amazing! Such a lovely couple who genuinely care about the animals in there care and also the house was spotless when we came back! I can't recommend them highly enough! They kept us updated on how things were going with regular photo updates as well. We will hopefully be able use there services again 🤞 if you looking for someone to house/dog sit look no further!
Lucy & Dom were really accommodating with our last minute weekend booking for our two dogs, both lovely, genuine and kind people with a clear love and care for animals! Rory and Toby loved their time and their walks and would definitely trust them both to watch our doggies again!
Majo enjoyed his time with Lucy and Dominic. They sent me photos of Majo out on a beautiful local wooded walk. They were thorough with their pre-stay assessment of Majo’s needs during his stay which gave me confidence Lucy and Dominic could adapt to his little foibles!!!! I am happy to have already booked Majo a second stay with them.
Barney had a wonderful time with Lucy and Dominic. He had several long walks and lots of attention and I picked up a happy, relaxed dog! Highly recommended.

Schedule
We have flexible schedules so have lots of free time available for looking after your pets. Dom is a business and wellbeing guy, currently studying Ayurvedic Therapies. Lucy works from home on her laptop. For dogs we guarantee two good walks a day and for cats, lots of lovely interaction. We look forward to hearing from you!

Safety, trust & environment
We are very sensitive to each of the individual needs of the pets that we look after. Before sitting we will ask you about your pets likes and dislikes, routines and what their favourite toys are. We will keep to a feeding and walking schedule similar to your own so that there is not too much change for your pet. We enjoy playing games with the pets that we sit to keep them busy and stimulated. For dogs specifically, we will ask you about your dogs recall ability and are experienced at using a long lead if that is the safest option.
A typical day
We enjoy taking the dogs we sit on long walks, giving them lots of opportunity for stimulation through fun games and interaction. For cats that we sit, we enjoy playing games with them and curling up together on the sofa.
