Between us we work from home seven days a week, so dogs in our care are never left alone. Our days have a natural rhythm that works really well for dogs: a morning walk to start the day, garden time and rest in the middle, and an evening walk before winding down. Rhubarb is already at the centre of our daily routine, so adding a guest dog fits in seamlessly rather than feeling like a disruption. Weekends are even more relaxed — we love getting out for longer walks and spending time at home, so visiting dogs get plenty of attention and activity. We’re not a busy household with lots of coming and going, which means a calm, settled environment for dogs who need it — but with enough energy and outdoor space for those who want to play all day.

Safety, trust & environment
When dogs stay with us, they’re fully integrated into our home and daily routine — not kept separate or crated unless that’s what they’re used to. Our large, fully enclosed garden means they can run, sniff and play off-lead safely throughout the day, and our border terrier Rhubarb is a brilliant companion for dogs who love to socialise. We take every dog out for two walks a day, and stick to whatever routine the owner shares with us — feeding times, any dietary needs or medications — and we’ll always ask questions upfront so there are no surprises. We send regular photo updates so owners can relax knowing their dog is happy and settled. Dogs sleep in our home and we’re around for most of the day, so they’re never left alone for long periods. Every dog is different, so we take time to understand their personality, energy levels and any quirks before they arrive.

Reviews
I felt really comfortable leaving Nellie with Lucy for a couple of nights. She was quick to reply and kept me well informed and sent photos of Nellie’s stay. Would definitely recommend.

Lucy was great sending us updates, her pup is super friendly and our dogs played together all weekend! Great sitter will defo book again!

Lucy and her husband were fantastic with coco, Lucy was responsive and sent us updated throughout the day. Coco seemed very happy and relaxed and didn’t want to leave at pick up! Would definitely recommend and will be booking again!x
I think Willow prefers to stay at Lucy & Dave’s than our own house! They are the best hosts and she loves to play with their dog Rhubarb. I know she loves her time there and that allows me to relax on my holidays!
