Hi 😊 👋🏻 I'm Lucy, a 43 year old optometrist and part time pet sitter with a love for all creatures of all shapes and sizes! As a loving dog mum, I fully understand how important it is to find someone caring, reliable and trustworthy to care for your pets, and I take that responsibility very seriously. I believe our furry family members deserve the absolute best care 24/7, and I am passionate about providing it! I volunteer at the Destitute Animal Shelter in Bolton so I have hands-on experience caring for cats and dogs of all temperaments — from shy senior rescues to playful babies. I’m confident handling feeding routines, cleaning, and giving them the love and attention they need while you’re away. I'm happy to administer all kinds of medication as required. I am an experienced pet parent, having my own dogs Hugo and Stanley, and having previously owned cats Arnie and Lou. I am also an active cat sitter on Pawshake and have been providing cat sitting services for the last 9+ months. I am fully DBS checked.

I will go above and beyond to ensure your pets are as comfortable and as content as possible during your time away. I recognise their preferences for play time/cuddle time/company (from a distance if needed!) and will spend time making sure everything is calm and clean and tidy for them. I will adhere to your regular routines at your instruction so everything is done just as you like it. While you're away I can attend to anything you need round the house - watering plants, bringing in mail/deliveries, hoovering up after the kitties, anything you need help with ☺️

I’ve known Lucy for many years and have seen that she is calm and caring with pets in her care, especially cats and small dogs. She enjoys spending time with animals and gives them attention and affection when looking after them. I know she values making pets feel comfortable and settled around her.
Lucy was absolutely amazing with our two cats while we were away on holiday. We were a bit worried about leaving them as they’re not used to being around anyone else, but she made them feel completely comfortable and settled. She kept in touch with us the whole way through and gave us real peace of mind. She really took the time to get them out of their shell, and we’ll definitely be using her as our regular cat sitter from now on. Highly recommend!
Lucy has been pet sitting for our 2 cats already multiple times, including a longer, 3 weeks period of time. She is incredibly carrying and very professional. We always receive pictures, videos and a summary of all visits. I feel very confident in leaving home and our boys with her. Everything was left tidy and done exactly how it was agreed. Lucy is also flexible with arrangements and definitely very trustworthy. She took care not only for boys but also for the flat, post etc. Couldn't recommend her enough!

Lucy has a natural ability to connect with each animal, treating them with genuine love, patience, and kindness. She puts her whole heart into ensuring every animal in our care feels safe, valued, and cared for during their time at the rescue. Lucy is also a friendly, positive person who brings great energy to the team, and she is a pleasure to have around. We feel very lucky to have Lucy as part of our volunteer team, and I would trust her completely with the care of all our animals.
Lucy volunteers with us here at The Destitute Animal Shelter and has done for some years! She is wonderful with the animals in our care, compassionate, caring, and adoring. The cats and dogs at the shelter simply love her and her energy!

Schedule
I currently work part time and remotely from home, which has left me with more time on my hands, allowing me flexibility with home visiting times. I appreciate the importance of reliability, and am always punctual. Please feel free to message regarding your needs and preferences and I will do my best to be as accommodating as possible. I'm happy to discuss extended travel distances if needed, and can tailor a visiting schedule to suit you, including alternate 1x and 2x per day visits, extra visits and happily negotiable extended cuddle time!
