I'm 37 year old mature Oxford student studying Musicology. I offer 1-2-1 pet care. I only take 1 booking at a time to ensure your pet has my exclusive undivided attention and care (unless you have more than 1 pet, then it will be spread equally). I’ve spent lots of time around dogs growing up, my family had small & medium dogs that we would all take on walks frequently. This is a past time that I miss greatly living in a city, and not owning any pets myself. So no cute companion to go for walks & bonding, and to help me with writing (ahem!). I’ve travelled around India, and lived in Bali for 2 years during the pandemic, and during this time connected with so many different types of street dogs. So I feel very well equipped to understand the nature & needs of both wild and domesticated dogs. I also volunteered for a dog charity / shelter called BAWA for 3 months daily, I was responsible for around of around 15 dogs which had a full range of behaviours and needs. Some were quite vicious and others were disabled, it was challenging yet highly rewarding work. I have experience with rescue pets and pets with behaviour problems. There I personally adopted a stray dog called Braveheart and cat called Toto, which was a wonderful experience whilst I was living in Bali, therefore adapting to different animals needs was something that's greatly equipped me in handling western dogs no problem. Also, I've been told amongst friends that I'm the dog whisperer! I enjoy long walks to interesting parks, rivers; streams, lake, ponds... you name it. One of my first jobs when I was 15 was pet sitting, where for over a year I was staying in the pet owners house whilst they were at work so I could look after their dog Holly (since she was a pup), ensure she was fed and take her on walks nearby. I've been dog sitting part-time alongside my studies for 4 years in Bristol and London before relocating to Oxford recently. I've met some wonderful dogs across the spectrum of needs / behaviours, and have made some lovely memories with both the owners and their pups!

Leaving Billy and Cricket isn’t easy, and I don’t say that lightly. They’re not the “easy” dogs. From the start, Lucy was calm, communicative, and clearly experienced. Even when things were challenging, she handled it with so much patience. She sent a lot of updates, photos, and videos, which helped me relax. It takes a special kind of person watch reactive, complex dogs and still show up with kindness and responsibility. Also, she left the house perfect. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Lucy.
Lucy was amazing with our two pups, who can take a while to warm up due to some behavioral challenges. She was so patient, followed every instruction, played games with them, and even worked in some training. We felt totally at ease leaving them with her.
Lucy was very patient and warm when meeting my dogs for the first time. One of my dogs was comfortable chilling out with her in a nearby cafe too. Amazing! Thank you for hanging out with us, Lucy!

We had Lucy look after our dog for a few nights whilst we went on holiday, it was our first time leaving him with someone other then family so we were very nervous however, Lucy sent us constant updates, lots of photos and it looked like Red (our dog) had an amazing time with her!! He looked so happy in every photo. Thank you so much Lucy and im sure we will see you again xx

Schedule
I can do daycare or overnight stays in your home, during the academic breaks I have more flexibility. As a student I am flexible with my schedule.
