I am a veterinarian, graduated in Brazil in 1996, with 29 years as a licensed veterinarian and 37 years of overall pet care experience. I practiced as a veterinarian in Brazil for 17 years before moving to San Diego, where I worked for 8 years as a veterinary technician. Today, I am in the process of obtaining my U.S. veterinary license and I am also the founder of LuAngel Special Needs Pets, a non-profit organization dedicated to pets with special needs. I provide cage-free boarding with very few pets at a time so each animal receives calm, personalized care. My focus is always on health, comfort, and love rather than high prices. With my veterinary expertise, I can administer oral and injectable medications, provide post-surgical care, treat wounds, and offer specialized support for animals with chronic or medical conditions, including pets that require bladder expression or other advanced care. Luciana is a fabulous Rover. Bastian was so thoughtfully cared for and she really has a special gentle touch especially for puppies still exploring. Would definitely recommend her for any service.
Luciana truly treated my dog, Louie, like one of her own. I had no worries while I was away as I received photos and videos of my dog regularly, as well as updates of who he gets along with and how he is doing overall! She went above and beyond with her care and love! Additionally, she found and adjusted a dog wheelchair to help make my dog more comfortable, as he has been experiencing mobility issues along with other extensive care. It’s very rare to find someone like Luciana who will go the extra mile for your pet, and I could not recommend her enough!
Luciana was amazing! She took great care of Scooby over Christmas and sent lots of videos and pictures. I highly recommend her!!
Did a great job and didn’t have to worry at all
Luciana, was so wonderful with our Dog. She is super knowledgeable about animals and gave us lots of helpful tips and tricks. We will definitely be booking with her again and are so lucky to have found her!!

Schedule
Pet care is part of my daily life. As a veterinarian and founder of LuAngel Special Needs Pets, I dedicate my time fully to animal care. I offer flexible scheduling during the week and weekends, including boarding, daycare, and home visits. Because this is my life’s work, I always prioritize pets’ routines and comfort.

Even though I have a large backyard, I prioritize caring for only a few animals at a time so each pet feels calm and loved, like part of the family. The backyard is fully fenced, with locked gates for complete security — no pets can get out, and no outside animals can get in. There are shaded areas for comfort, and pets are free to go in and out of the house throughout the day since the doors stay open to the backyard. At night and during rest time, pets stay safely inside the home, never in cages, enjoying the comfort of a family environment. With my veterinary background, I can also administer medications and provide any special care when needed.

A typical day
Regardless of the day, I believe it is most important to follow the owner’s directions and the pet’s usual routine. This includes feeding schedules, administering medications if needed, and times for walks or play as instructed. Maintaining the same routine helps avoid stress and keeps the pet comfortable. From my side, a typical day in my care is calm, safe, with much love , and family-like. Pets enjoy supervised time in my large, fully fenced backyard with shaded areas, where they can move freely in and out of the house. Inside, they rest and sleep as part of the family, never in cages. I am also experienced in animal behavior and dog training. For owners who request it, I can reinforce basic commands and provide guidance that supports positive habits. Because I have a very spacious environment, I can safely manage group dynamics and, if I notice any potential conflict between animals, I am able to separate them without limiting space or comfort. This ensures that every pet in my care feels safe, calm, and well looked after.
