I work from home as a Project Manager with a flexible routine, so pet care fits very naturally into my day. I can offer plenty of company, attention, playtime, cuddles and regular walks throughout the day, rather than leaving pets alone for long periods. I live in Leith, very close to Dalmeny Park, Leith Links and other lovely green spaces, so dogs staying with me will have good options for safe and enjoyable walks. I’m also happy to keep to your pet’s usual routine as much as possible, including feeding times, walk times, rest, medication and any little habits that make them feel at home. I especially enjoy looking after pets during holidays or longer stays, as it gives us time to properly bond and build trust.

Whether your pet stays with me or I stay in your home, my priority is to make them feel safe, loved and relaxed. I follow the owner’s instructions carefully, including feeding routines, walking preferences, medication, sleeping arrangements and any behaviour or training guidance. I never let dogs off lead unless I have clear permission from the owner. I also take time to understand each pet’s personality, including what makes them happy, nervous, excited or uncomfortable. I’m confident with dogs and cats with different needs, including pets who need a slower approach, extra patience or medical support. I have experience administering tablets, ear drops and liquid medication mixed into food for different diagnoses. I have also administered injections to dogs, and although I have not yet done this with cats, I would be comfortable doing so if required and with clear instructions. I have also cared for a three-legged cat, so I understand the importance of adapting care to each animal. In a pet owner’s home, I’m respectful, tidy and careful. I’ll keep your pet’s routine consistent, send regular photos and videos, and make sure they feel cared for while you’re away.

Maybe more than them! 😂 I find cats so smart that love seeing what else they can learn or teach me!

I've always had animals in my life (dogs, cats, frogs, even sheeps!) and a home just doesn't feel complete without a pet in it. Back in Argentina I had two rescued dogs, Afrika and Sandro, who I adore to this day. Lucia looked after my dogs, Pato and Chisso, for 11 days at her place while I was away, and I genuinely couldn’t have hoped for a better experience. One of my boys can be incredibly cheeky and stubborn when it comes to taking his tablets, but Lucia somehow managed to get him to take them properly every day without stress or drama. It was very clear she was patient, attentive, and really took the time to understand their personalities and routines. What I appreciated most, though, was the communication. Every day I would receive funny, loving photos and videos of the dogs that honestly became part of my daily routine while I was away. It felt like receiving a little comic episode every evening — seeing their adventures, naps, zoomies, guilty faces, and cuddles made me laugh constantly and reassured me that they were genuinely happy and comfortable with her. You can tell Lucia truly loves animals and treats them like family rather than “just pets.” Pato and Chisso came back relaxed, affectionate, and very clearly attached to her. I would absolutely leave my dogs with Lucia again and recommend her without hesitation to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, caring, responsible, and genuinely wonderful with animals. S.
