Safety, trust & environment

We have a spacious 2-bedroom apartment with plenty of space indoors. We have a veritable cat climbing empire, complete with apartments and catwalks. I created this floating city to give the cats a safe space when dogs come by, since we are frequently watching dogs for friends and family. All our cats are indoor-only. We have a 2-door system to enter and exit the apartment, which makes it practically impossible for any pets to escape. We have a very small backyard, with no fencing, but we have access to several walking paths that I use regularly, including one that leads to the local public school, where I sometimes bring dogs to the fenced-in tennis courts after school hours to play fetch and run around if they have a lot of energy.

Information Luca P. would like to know about your pet

I have a lot of experience with high-energy dogs and separation anxiety, let me know if your dog has either of these needs. I can also accommodate pets that need medication or other special needs, just let me know.

A typical day

Walks are 4 times a day: First thing in the morning, lunchtime, sunset, last thing before bedtime. We have a dog bed, bowls, and plenty of toys in the house. I have a few different walking tracks around the neighborhood that I use to keep things interesting. They vary in length from 1 mile to 5 miles, depending on how much energy the pup needs to burn. One of the medium-length tracks brings us to the public school, and if it is after hours or a holiday, I can use the fenced-in tennis courts to let the pups off leash and play some fetch in a closed environment, which is great for the high-energy pups.

Pet care experience

Hi, my name is Luca, and I'm and photographer who loves pets! Sometimes I'll take professional photos of the pets I watch as a thank-you to regular customers ;) I grew up with pets during childhood, usually a dog and cat. After leaving the house it wasn't long before I ended up with a pet of my own: we agreed to dog sit for a friend for a week in college, but when we found that the shitzu was malnourished and neglected we offered to adopt him and the owner was happy to have him in a better home. After a couple of years, he was eventually adopted by my partner's parents at the time, where he still lives happily today. Shortly after that, I watched a hound and cat for 2-months while the owners were out of town for the winter. The hound grew very attached to me, so much so that when the owners decided to leave the area permanently I was the first person they asked about adopting the hound. Unfortunately, I was about to leave for 6 months of travel, so that was not possible. When we got back I adopted a wonderful husky with my ex, unfortunately, a couple of years later she won custody when we broke up, and now the husky lives with her in Colorado. Now I have two cats with my fiance. The first, Ms. Jade, was a stray who appeared at my fiance's workplace looking in rough shape. After a few weeks of asking around to see if she had an owner in the neighborhood we decided to take her in, she is now healthy and happy in our home. Mr. Dill on the other hand was a kitten when we adopted him from the SPCA, he is now a happy BIG cat (not fat, just very big).

Luca is excellent with Annie as always. Annie has made friends with Lucas cats and is very at home when she visits. She loves to go on walks with Luca and he gives her wonderful attention. We are always comfortable, leaving Annie with Luca. .
