Availability
Lu works full-time with a hybrid schedule, while Clay focuses solely on the dogs. Between the two of us, we have flexible availability for walks, pets, and play. Our schedule changes from week to week, including both recurring and one-off commitments. Due to the nature of our schedules, we typically ask for some flexibility with exact timing for walks, and we discuss this individually with each owner. For dogs who are boarding with us, we typically follow their usual routines, which we align on before their stay. If the weather permits and the owner is comfortable with it, you can also find us at one of the multiple dog parks near our place.

Safety, trust & environment
We strive to be the dependable, responsive, and loving sitters that we would want to leave Artemis with. Before any booking, we like to understand the owner's full expectations and discuss the dog's needs, routine, and any quirks or preferences. We keep notes on every dog to ensure continuity of care. Generally, we stick to a few rules: - We never let dogs off-leash (except in enclosed dog parks). - We allow dogs on furniture and beds. - We don't give dogs human food and always ask about allergies. - We provide extra bowls, treats, toys, and poop bags. For walks, we are always mindful of the weather conditions and offer alternatives if we can't provide the full service, such as playing indoors. Additional notes for boarding: We live in a 3-bedroom with a terrace, which includes a fresh patch potty area. We live on the first floor up a flight of stairs. For small breeds like dachshunds, we have soft staircases in the apartment for accessing the couch and bed, and we carry them up and down the building stairs. Please note that our building has an active stairwell, so it's not the best environment for pups who are reactive to street noise or who struggle with separation anxiety. For updates, we can either message you through Rover or provide you with our phone numbers for texting or WhatsApp. You can expect lots of cute pictures of your pup and blurbs about their day.

It’s important to us that your pet gets plenty of love in your absence. Whatever makes them feel good, whether it’s park time or cuddles, we’ll be responsive and attentive to their needs. In the past, we've taken dogs to parks, breweries, picnics, and even the first-annual Small Dog Pride Parade. We'll make sure your dog feels so cared for that they'll be sad to say goodbye to us!

Pet care experience
Hi, we’re Lu and Clay! We live in Williamsburg with our 7-year-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Artemis. We couldn't imagine living in this city without the comfort and love of a dog, and we understand how important it is to have the right support for them. That is where we come in! Clay works with dogs full-time and first started pet-sitting when he was 7, caring for the dogs in his community. Lu has had animals her whole life and also spent years volunteering at animal shelters as a teenager. We both place care at the center of our relationships with dogs and value building long-term bonds. Since 2023, we have been providing boarding, housesitting, daycare, and walking services in our neighborhood. We have experience with most breeds and all ages, from newly vaccinated puppies to seniors with mobility concerns. We're comfortable administering medication and generally open to understanding your dog's unique needs.

Moose came back happy and healthy! I feel like I can truly tell when he likes his dog sitter and Moose would give his stay 5 stars. Thank you so much for the pictures of him every day!

Arthur seemed to have had the best time and was very sad to leave Lu and Clay! Thank you for taking such good care of him and for all the photos and updates 🥰 I’m sure Arthur can’t wait to be back!!

Clay and Lu are incredible!! Panko is head over heels and when Clay dropped him off, he kept zooming over to him as to thank Clay for being amazing. We are so grateful for the wonderful care, photos, thoughtful updates, attention, and genuine love Panko had. It was like going to his cousin’s house for summer vacation :) Artemis is a sweetie and lovely doggy companion too. So thankful 😌 🤗💙

Lu and Clay were the best sitters for our dachshund, Goose! They were super responsive and reliable from the meet and greet all the way through his stay. They have experience with dachshunds which gave us peace of mind while we were on our trip. We especially appreciated all the photos and updates!
