Come home to happy pups!
Hello! I'm Lovey. I'm a freelance journalist who works from home at odd hours and due to a change in life circumstances, I am currently returning to Rover after some time away in search of a few longer-term house-sitting stays for April and May 2026! Up until her passing in January at the age of 12, I cared for my beloved Frenchie mix Ellie her whole life, including the medication and mobility issues of her senior days. I am experienced with dogs and cats of all walks of life, and have a green thumb and extensive collection of my own when it comes to any plants that may need watering while you’re out of town. I love dogs and exploring local neighborhoods on foot. I always take walks for the full half-hour or mile-long (whichever comes first) unless otherwise specified.

Schedule
My schedule is self-set at this point in my career, so I’m usually available for last minute requests during the work day so long as they are within a 20 mile radius of downtown Durham!

I am always careful to follow exact instructions for both entry and drop off, and as an extrovert I have no fears when it comes to navigating apartment complexes and front desk people. :)

A typical day
Depending on your dog’s energy levels, we can either have a sniff-walk for mental stimulation, or focus more on time spent walking and distance traveled. I have a knack for finding interesting routes on foot in residential areas!
