Doggy day holidays
I am a designer who works from home, after always having dogs I miss their company a lot. Instead of getting a dog I decided to host dogs in my house. I live in a cottage in St Austell, tucked away in a quiet part of this seaside town. I have a lovely big garden with sunshine and shade where they can play or potter about. The cottage is cool and quiet and has everything a doggy would need. Your dog will never be left alone as I work here too. I only take one dog at a time or dogs from the same household so they will have a really personal experience that will be tailored to them and their needs. There is a wealth of glorious beaches and river trails only minutes away for playtime, walks and relaxing. I try and make every day like a doggy holiday even if they are only staying a short time. I have owned dogs myself as well as having grown up with one always in the household. I had my last dog from a puppy and fully trained him, we did agility classes together too. I have also owned a rescue dog in the past who I worked closely with a trainer for to understand his body language and his needs so I do have experience with dog behaviour.

Ratings and reviews
Gus has had a wonderful time with Louise and her partner we can't thank her enough! When we collected Gus he seemed really calm and responsive like he's been on his own little retreat from his family. Louise communicated really well and let me no everything that Gus was getting up to including finding out about Gus's needs.

I know Louise wright to be a highly responsible and loving pet caregiver. Having known Louise for 18 years I’ve had the privilege of watching Louise care for her pets over the years. Louise is an individual who prides herself on being responsible and reliable and it’s clear to see how that strongly held value shapes her approach to caring for them. Lou was an excellent dog mum to both her beloved collie dogs Haku and Hunter. Many of us are no stranger to the challenges that collies can present with their boundless energy, and need for additional stimulation. Often this means strong boundaries and training are essential, which Lou was committed to providing and implementing from day one. She did everything you would expect of an excellent dog owner and beyond, ensuring that all their care and well being needs were throughly met, resulting in two very happy, and healthy dogs. In addition to this no expense was ever spared, and all the veterinary needs were met in a timely and responsible fashion. I couldn’t fault her for anything, the dogs meant the world to her.
I'm a veterinary nurse at an animal hospital and I also happen to be Lou's partner. Lou's love of dogs and her kind, caring nature make her the loveliest doggy mum you can find. She's an experienced dog owner and has successfully trained wilful border collie pups and rehomed and fully rehabilitated nervous dogs to being happy, healthy and confident doggies. A big life change and relocation means we don't have a dog at the moment so Lou has all her love to give to the dogs she pet sits whilst she works from home. She's incredibly patient, positive, calm and practical and all the dogs in the park seem to flock to her when we're out for a stroll! Lou is chatty and empathetic and loves people too. I cannot recommend her highly enough as a safe, loving and fun dog sitter.

Schedule
I work from home during the week so your dog will have lots of 1:1 attention as I need to take regular breaks away from the screen. I always walk in the morning, lunchtime and the end of the day as a way to get outdoors and it’s such a treat to do that alongside a doggy friend.

Home characteristics
Safety, trust & environment
I can offer a pet free, smoke free house with a fenced in garden. Please do bring anything your dog likes along to make them comfortable, maybe a bed and some favourite toys for playtime
A typical day
There will be at least two 45 minute walks in your dogs day as well as playtime in the garden. We have beautiful beaches on our doorstep and the Pentewan valley a short drive away if your dog is happy to go in the car. I always try to keep your dogs routine in place so they can have their food and naps at their usual time. There will only ever be one dog or dogs from a shared household staying at any time so they will be the centre of attention.
