I've swapped my office job for full-time doggie care so I’m at home 7 days a week. I keep my pooch guests by my side 24/7 and miss them when they go home!

Safety, trust & environment
I have a cosy, comfy studio across the road from Clissold Park. Doggie sleepovers mean doggie preferably sleeps on my bed. The safety, protection and wellbeing of every dog in my care is my highest priority. All my regular dogs know each other and get along fine. Any potential newcomer will be assessed and/or tried out with the dogs they might be joining indoors or outdoors. I don't walk or host more than 4/5 dogs at any one time. Indoors, if there are any growls, grumbles or pesterers, I have nice ways to separate/de-escalate. I know who can be left at home a short while when necessary. Daytimes include minimum 1 x park walk (1.5 hours), toilet breaks every 4 hours and walks around the block. Plus fetch games, basic treat training, lots of strokes and cuddles.

Information Louise S. would like to know about your pet
How are they with other dogs - indoors and out? How well trained are they? Are they neutered / spayed /in season? How is their recall with a new dog sitter. Can they be off the leash and, if so, when/where? Any dietary requirements or health issues. Challenging behaviours such as etiquette and reactivity towards other dogs, aggression, barking, crying at night, climbing/jumping, excessive scavenging.
A typical day
Fetch games indoors and out - balls, sticks etc. Tug of war & various toys. Exploring Abney Cemetry. Clissold Park - all over. Canals. Hampstead Heath and dog agility parks where possible. Socialising with dogs in public spaces and with other dogs in my care. Basic treat training. Lots of love and affection - boarding doggies can be affected by being apart from their owners and need lots of cuddles and reassurance.

Pet care experience
I've been taking care of dogs professionally for the past 3 years and have only just come back to Rover. So I've learned a lot on the job and gained experience of all kinds of breeds, personalities and ages, from puppy to senior, and all manner of canine quirks and habits. Also how to manage doggie dynamics in a pack - that's the best part :-) I work with dogs because I've had a lifelong affinity with them, ever since I was a small child desperate for my own dog and walking other people's pooches any chance I could get. I tune in to them and love their characters, companionship, and wordless sensitivity. I'm s strong believer in setting the boundaries they need, giving the firm "no" every time it's required, and also plenty of affection too. I enjoy the process of building the trust and bond between myself and a dog, and working with any challenging behaviour is incredibly rewarding. I perservere. Infinite patience, intuition and a heart is essential when dealing with difficult doggie antics, as well as a firm voice and a perpetual sense of humour! I'm a keen observer of their body language and what goes on between our canine pals that we don't always see. I don't have my own dog because I want the freedom to go on long foreign adventures at some point. I love and treat all the dogs in my care as if they were my own and feel blessed to get to be with these delightfully wonderful animals every day.
