Information Louise H. would like to know about your pet

Providing me with as much information as possible about your pet, their environment and their routine allows me to provide the best care possible. I always provide an owner and pet questionnaire and ask this is filled out with as much information as possible. This provides me with all necessary information for safe and secure pet care.

A typical day

I love to help stimulate pets within their own environment as this helps build trust and reassurance. For dogs and cats I always let them approach me and get used to me on their own terms. Being in their environment and letting them approach me allows them to build a bond in their own time. I offer treats and lots of play time. For dogs I love to offer lots of love and cuddles if this is what they enjoy, as well as play time with toys, throwing the ball and lots of walks. I have transport to be able to take them to different locations for exercise and new environments. For cats I like to place treats around their home environment so that they can use their senses to find them and this provides exercise and enrichment. I always play with string toys and toy mice and toy balls. In previous cat sitting environments I have been able to use pet light toys which has kept them busy for a long time and provided much enjoyment and exercise. Calming music helps relax pets in their environment and animated pet friendly videos can help stimulate their brains and minds.

Registered Veterinary Nurse

Pet care experience

Hi I’m Louise I have been a Registered Veterinary Nurse for over 10 years now and have worked within the Veterinary industry for 20 years. In 2015 I gained my Level 3 Diploma in Veterinary Nursing and in 2019 I gained my Post Graduate Nursing Certification in Anaesthesia. Within my 20 year’s experience I have worked in Referral hospitals, Charity hospitals, General practice, Emergency practices and have worked in a busy Emergency Veterinary Hospital in Brisbane Australia. To comply with the RCVS I keep my Nursing Registration by completing 15 hours yearly CPD and keeping up with regular Veterinary knowledge. I love caring for animals because I enjoy making them as happy and well looked after as I can whilst their owners are away or on holiday. As a previous pet owner I understand the concern when leaving your pet with somebody so I try and bring as much comfort to pet and owner as possible. I keep owners regularly updated throughout pet sits and am more than happy for owners to contact me during the pet sits whether that be message or call. I have my own car and am happy to take dogs in my care to nice dog friendly locations for a walk outside of their normal area if owners are happy. This year I have done pet sits for over 30 dogs, cats and small mammals so far and have had the pleasure of being able to stay in varied locations across the Midlands, it’s lovely to be able to go on dog walks in new places. I am fully insured. Able to provide references. On the RCVS Veterinary Nurses Register. In my spare time I love to travel, I’ve been able to travel all over the world backpacking solo and with friends, I love the freedom and exploring new places, and being able to have new experiences. A previous travel highlight was spending two months travelling across Japan which was absolutely beautiful. If I’m not looking after pets, nursing or travelling you will find me at an antiques fair or having a coffee in a new cafe somewhere.

Louise looked after our 2 golden retrievers and 2 bunnies whilst we were away for a week. She gave them so much care and love, and it was one of the only times we haven’t had to worry about them whilst on holiday. She gave us lots of updates, kept the house tidy and clean and went above and beyond to make sure all the animals were okay as it was during the heatwave. Would definitely recommend Louise! Thank you!

We are so grateful to Louise for looking after our rabble. We fully trusted her with our dog Bruce and our two cats bear and bandit and would have her back again in a heart beat. Louise also helped our elderly neighbour during the time that she was staying at our house when he unexpectedly needed help. Thank you so much for having them and for your communication while we were away.

Louise is a friendly, professional and realisable person who loves animals and treats them all as of they were her own. Louise is a qualified veterinary nurse and has years of experience with animal care. Louise is polite, tidy and sensible which make her very trust worthy in my home and with my pets.
