Licensed and loving home-from-home
Hi! We are Louise Bell and Conor Dunk, and we run Cosy Canines right here in Lower Earley. We are a loving, dog-friendly family who will treat your pup exactly like one of our own. Dogs are truly part of our family here—they are welcome on the sofa, enjoy endless cuddles, and are free to settle wherever they feel most comfortable. Why Choose Cosy Canines? * Fully Council-Licensed: Licensed by Wokingham Council (Licence No: HB120), meaning our spacious 4-bed home meets the highest legal standards for safety, hygiene, and welfare. * Highly Qualified: Over 20 years of dog-care experience, plus a Level 3 canine first aid certificate. *Meet Marvel: Our friendly, 2-year-old male Cockapoo is a massive part of our home! He is brilliantly well-socialized and loves playing with high-energy pups, but is equally respectful of dogs who just want their own quiet space. * The Perfect Environment: A spacious home with a fully enclosed, secure garden to explore, close to local parks, fields, and woodland for our daily walks. A Typical Day With Us: Your dog will enjoy a seamless, stress-free routine that mirrors their life at home. A typical day includes two woodland or field walks, plenty of garden playtime, and cozy evening relaxation. We are always at home during evenings, weekends, and school holidays, ensuring your dog receives constant companionship and attentive care.✨ Our Simple 3-Step Booking Process (Council Approved!) To ensure a safe, harmonious environment for all our guests, we follow Wokingham Council guidelines to ensure a perfect match: * Free Meet & Greet: You and your pup come over to visit us and Marvel, explore our garden, and chat through your dog's exact routine, diet, and quirks. * Comfort Trial Night: We arrange a quick 1-night trial stay to ensure your dog feels completely relaxed, safe, and happy sleeping in our home before your main booking. * Your Holiday Secured! You can travel with total peace of mind, knowing your dog is in a fully legal, safe, and loving environment. (Please note: To keep all our guests safe, we cannot accept entire/unneutered dogs, unvaccinated pets, or breeds listed under the Dangerous Dogs Act).

Ratings and reviews
Louise has looked after our cocker George a few times now and we are very confident and happy to ask her again. He is a fussy eater and would struggle to eat with other dogs, but Louise made sure he ate his food separately, and he also was made a big fuss of during the time we were away with photos of lovely wooded walks they went on. Would thoroughly recommend!

Schedule
When dogs are staying with us, they are very much part of our daily life and are never left for long periods. Marvel and I love getting out for walks in the local woods, enjoying playtime in the garden, and then winding down at home with plenty of cuddles on the sofa. We also include enrichment activities throughout the day to keep dogs mentally stimulated and happy. This can include interactive toys, gentle games, scent activities, and opportunities to explore and play, depending on each dog’s personality and energy levels. My routine allows me to offer a calm and caring environment, where each dog receives the attention, exercise, enrichment, and affection they need to feel happy, settled, and well looked after.

Home characteristics
Safety, trust & environment
Your dog’s happiness, safety, and comfort are at the heart of everything we do. We want every dog to feel relaxed, secure, and truly at home from the moment they arrive. Our home provides a safe and welcoming environment, with a fully enclosed garden where dogs can enjoy fresh air, play, and explore freely. Inside, the space is calm, clean, and comfortable, with plenty of cosy spots to relax and settle in. We take the time to get to know each dog properly before their stay through a meet and greet. This helps us understand their personality, routine, and needs, and ensures they feel comfortable in our home. Introductions with other dogs, including Marvel, are always done gently and at the dog’s pace to keep everything calm and positive. We know how important trust is when leaving your dog with someone else. That’s why we follow your dog’s usual routine as closely as possible—whether that’s feeding, walks, or quiet time—so their stay feels familiar and stress-free. We are always attentive, present, and focused on making sure every dog feels safe and cared for. We also keep you updated during your dog’s stay with regular messages and photos, so you can see how they are settling in and enjoying their time with us. This gives you peace of mind and helps you feel connected while you’re away. With our friendly and well-balanced dog, Marvel, we create a relaxed environment where dogs can play if they wish or simply enjoy their own space. Every dog is treated as part of the family, with plenty of care, attention, and affection. Our aim is simple—to provide a safe, loving, home-from-home environment where you can feel completely confident leaving your dog in our care.
