Expert Dog Care
I truly love dogs and spending time with them. I enjoy playing, grooming and photographing them. I am a licensed acupuncturist in CA and Or and have actively studied and practiced the methods put forth in Dr. Cheryl Schwartz's book "Four Paws Five Directions: A Guide to Chinese Medicine for Cats and Dogs". I am also adapt in administering Western medications i.e. insulin injections. Richard and I both work from our home so one of us is here most of the time. We enjoy dog walking and if you have a dog walk that your dog enjoys we would be happy to explore it and learn new places. We are happy to host well behaved dogs and will strive to make sure they are happy and safe. We cannot accept aggressive dogs, or dogs with no experience with chickens or cats.

Louisa was very accommodating about drop-off and pick-up. She sent photo updates throughout the day and it was clear that our dog, Stella, had a wonderful day playing with resident dog Jin. Lots of space to run and play on their convenient property near Nevada City.
It’s always nerve-wracking leaving your fur baby with someone new, but it only took a few minutes at our meet & greet with Louisa & her partner, Richard, to calm my worries and feel like Tilly would be loved and cared for. Tilly could feel it too! Tilly has found more extended family that we can trust and that love her like their own. Great property for my very active pooch & then plenty of comfy space inside to cuddle up & relax. Best part is Louisa’s generosity with sharing beautiful photos of Tilly (and new pack friends!) so I could feel comfortable & secure while I was away. Definitely two paws up from Tilly! Highly recommend!!
My special needs dog was well cared for. I will definitely leave Pablo with Louisa, Richard and Jin again. I had no worries while he was there. ?
Louisa has a lovely home with a large yard — perfect for dogs to play! She was also very communicative during Gilbert’s stay. I would highly recommend :)

Schedule
Richard and I are both home most of the time so between us your dog will have full time company. Our dog is a poodle so grooming is pretty constant around here.

Safety, trust & environment
We have several fenced in outside areas that are available. We do live on a farm with free range chickens so we would need to know how your dog behaves with them. We also have two mules but we do not allow client dogs into the pasture with them for everyone's safety.
Pets
A typical day
We are located just about 3 minutes from the 49 and 20 in Nevada City. We have 4.6 acres of land with several large fenced in areas where your dog can enjoy supervised romps. A determined dog could dig it's way out of our fences so we don't just let dogs out in our pastures and leave them there. Our dog is now able to differentiate between who wants to play with him and who does not so if your dog loves to play that's great but if your dog prefers to just hang out mostly inside we can do that too.
