Hi, I’m Lorena! I’m a caring, dependable, and energetic pet sitter who believes your pets deserve the same love, attention, and patience they get from their own family. 🧬 A little about me: I have a B.S. in Biology with a focus in Microbiology, and my background in healthcare and caregiving has taught me to be observant, patient, and attentive to the little details that matter. 🐾 I have experience caring for pets at many different stages of life. I’ve had the privilege of owning and caring for two large-breed Staffordshire Pit Bulls throughout their senior years, so I understand the patience, gentle care, and attention that older dogs may need. I’m comfortable with bigger, strong dogs and understand that every dog has their own personality, energy level, and routine. 🍼 I’ve fostered premature kittens on three separate occasions from North Central Animal Shelter, caring for them from their fragile baby stage through adoption age. I’ve cared for post-op adult cats and have experience administering oral medications as well. These experiences have taught me how important it is to remain calm, patient, observant, and consistent when a pet needs extra care. 🐦 And yes, I love our feathered friends too! I have firsthand experience caring for parrots, including lovebirds and budgerigars (budgies). I’ve also had experience caring for a North American house finch, giving me an appreciation for how different bird species have their own unique needs, personalities, and routines. I understand that birds require a clean environment, fresh food and water, gentle handling, and plenty of attention to their behavior and surroundings. 🧼 🫧Because of my microbiology background, I’m especially mindful about cleanliness, sanitation, and maintaining a safe environment. My healthcare and caregiving experience has also taught me to follow instructions carefully, recognize when something seems out of the ordinary, and communicate with owners so they can have peace of mind.
