A Home Away From Home for Your Dog
I have been around dogs all my life and understand that every dog has their own personality, routine and needs. Alongside being a devoted dog owner, I have spent 25 years working in health and social care, where trust, compassion, responsibility and attention to individual wellbeing have always been at the heart of my work. I am currently training as a counsellor, which has further strengthened my skills in patience, communication and building trusting relationships. I bring this same calm and caring approach to looking after dogs, ensuring they feel safe, secure and comfortable while in my care. I have experience caring for dogs of different ages, sizes and temperaments, including energetic dogs who require plenty of exercise as well as older dogs who benefit from a gentler pace and consistent routine. I understand the importance of following owners' instructions carefully and maintaining routines to help dogs feel relaxed and settled. My aim is to provide a safe, home-from-home experience where your dog is treated as part of the family, receiving plenty of attention, affection and enrichment while you're away.

Lorna is brilliant with my dog Alfie, and I never worry about him when he’s in her care. Alfie is a chihuahua, so can be a bit chihuahua sometimes, but Lorna looks after him as if he were his own (as does Monty!). Alfie is excited whenever he sees Lorna (usually because that means he’ll be going on an adventure!)
We needed some last minute dog care for our duck toller Keke and Lorna was able to help. We got lots of pictures of Keke out on walkies and clearly very comfortable sleeping upside down with her paws in the air without a care in the world. Massive thanks to Lorna! We'd not hesitate to take Keke to Lorna in the future and Keke would definitely like to go back!

I am able to provide a flexible and reliable pet care service throughout the week, with plenty of time dedicated to ensuring dogs receive the attention, exercise and companionship they need. I share my home with my friendly and sociable dog, Monty, who is 8 years old and enjoys the company of other dogs. Because every dog is different, I believe it is important to arrange an initial meet and greet before accepting any booking. This gives me the opportunity to get to know your dog, understand their personality, routine and individual needs, and ensure they are comfortable around Monty and in the home environment. I understand how important consistency is for dogs, so I take the time to learn about their usual routine, preferences and any special requirements. My aim is to help every dog feel safe, relaxed and settled while they are in my care. When boarding, dogs will be treated as part of the family and will receive plenty of attention, affection, exercise and enrichment throughout the day. I am also happy to provide regular updates and photos to give owners peace of mind while they are away. As I am building a professional pet care business alongside my counselling studies and drawing on 25 years of experience working in health and social care, I have chosen a flexible working model that allows me to focus on providing high-quality, personalised care rather than taking on large numbers of dogs at once. My priority is always to create a safe, caring and trustworthy environment where both dogs and owners feel comfortable and confident.

I only accept dogs that I feel are a good fit for my home environment, which is why I arrange a meet and greet before confirming any booking. This allows me to understand your dog's temperament, routine and needs, and ensure they are comfortable around my dog, Monty. I own my home and have both front and rear fenced gardens, providing secure outdoor space for supervised time outside. Inside, I have the flexibility to separate areas of the house if required, allowing dogs to have their own space to relax or to support a gradual introduction process where appropriate. I understand that not all dogs settle in the same way, and I am happy to adapt the environment to meet individual needs. I follow owners' instructions carefully regarding feeding, exercise and daily routines. Dogs are supervised appropriately, and I take the time to ensure introductions are managed safely and positively. As someone who has worked in health and social care for 25 years, I understand the importance of trust, safeguarding and responsibility. I hold an Enhanced DBS check and have completed canine first aid training, providing additional reassurance that your dog is in safe and capable hands. I believe every dog deserves individual attention, so I limit the number of dogs in my care to ensure they receive the time, supervision and care they need. I maintain regular communication with owners and am happy to provide regular updates and photos throughout their dog's stay. My aim is to give owners complete peace of mind, knowing their dog is safe, happy and cared for as if they were my own.
